Yeah... it's annoying as hell. Shelby Twp doesn't exist on most searches -- it almost ALWAYS will come up as Utica, not Shelby Twp. What is kinda funny, too, is that Utica is a tiny city that's a rectangle like 1 mile by 2 miles and was originally part of Shelby Twp but then they dropped out of Shelby Twp to make their own city. They have like maybe 5 roads to patrol with their own police department and the real "hub of the city" is like a half mile stretch that runs parallel to M-59/Hall Road.
Forgot to mention, the reason why everything is always Utica is because the government only assigns zip codes in regards to cities, not townships. When they assigned zip codes, Shelby Twp had no post office (the one at 23 and Van Dyke is only like 5 years old) so all of Shelby Twp's zip codes got associated with the city of Utica.. which is why every time you ever put in your address it'll always ask "Did you mean Utica, MI?"
