Yeah, I got confused, thinking those styles were optional, with the 85-87 IROC rim as the "base" IROC rim, when in reality, it was the 15" Z28 rim.

Actually, as long as we're getting technical here, the 15" wheel was not available on the IROC-Z until 1988 when the IROC-Z became a "model" as opposed to an "option" on a Z28. And at that point, the 15" version was styled the same as the 16" (by then optional) wheel (like in Gary's second photo).Originally posted by MP81 View Post
From 1985 through 1987 when the IROC-Z package was an option on a Z28, the 16" wheel was part of that IROC-Z option. That's why the '85-'87 IROC-Z Camaros have Z28 emblems on the gfx, rear bumper, etc. Beginning in 1988 those were replaced by small IROC-Z in those same locations.

I think we have had this conversation before, But My 1987 Iroc has Iroc-z emblems on the gfx and rear bumper No Z28 emblems. It still has both original side Iroc emblems. The rear bumper one has been changed due to it be ruined when the car was painted.Originally posted by WMCC Doug View Post
I bought the car with 35k on it from the original dealership were the original owner traded it in. It was show room newand completely stock. I highly doubt the original owner changed them. Yes, we have and that's certainly an enigma, and would be the only one I have ever seen or heard of that way. I recall there being quite a big deal made when the IROC-Z became a "model" in 1988. But, stranger things have happened, that's for sure.Originally posted by WMCC Gary View Post
