  • FS: Photo Equipment

Well, I finally gave in and upgraded my photo equipment, so I'm looking to sell the old stuff. Here are the specs:

    1. Kodak EasyShare Z740 - $100
5.0mp, 10X Optical Zoom. Uses 2 AA batteries, SD Memory card, takes very good pictures. My sig was made using pics from this camera. Very good condition. It goes through AA alkaline batteries like nothing, but rechargeables actually have a pretty long lifespan in this one.

    2. Minolta HTSi Plus 35mm SLR - $125
Comes with 18-55mm macro/zoom lens. Fully programmable, very capable camera. I really liked using this one, it takes amazing photos. Once you switch to an SLR, you'll NEVER go back to a Point and Shoot. I used this one over the last couple of summers to make some extra cash as a wedding photographer. Never heard any complaints!

I'll get pics of them up later, I have to get all of this stuff together to snap some pics. . .

Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, I'm selling because I got a SWEET deal on a new Pentax Digital SLR. . . I'll throw another thread up about that after my photoshoot this weekend.

All prices are O.B.O., I just need a little more cash to buy a telephoto zoom lens for the Pentax.

Oh, and I should mention, both of these are in EXCELLENT shape, and I still have all the original packaging from the Minolta.

      Nick,

You're gonna love your new Pentax Digital SLR. I have been using my Pentax ist DL for about 2 1/2 years and think it's great. Which model are you going to get?

I picked it up yesterday, it's a K110D. It's pretty cool, I snapped about 400 pics yesterday. It came with an 18-55mm zoom lens, I'm looking for a 55-200mm telephoto or maybe a little bigger lens. I would really like to get a 500-800mm telephoto zoom lens at some point, since I do a lot of photography at sports events, but this should do for a while until I upgrade. That's why I'm selling my old stuff, so I can get some sweet accessories.

Apparently this camera uses the same size lens (52mm) as one of the lenses I have for my Canon AE-1, because I was able to find sky, polarizer, and close-up +2 filters that thread right on. Now I just need a decent UV filter.

My ist DL came with the same 18-55 zoom lens, and I also added the 55-200 zoom lens. Both are great lenses. You'll get a lot of enjoyment out of your new equipment. Congrats !!!!!!!!!!

Sorry they're kind of blurry, I'll get some more later. I hurried to grab these because my batteries were low.

I'm actually looking for a 55-150 or 55-250 lens. I'm very impressed by the equipment I've got right now, the kit lens is very nice, but I would like to get (at the least) a larger zoom lens, a decent macro lens, a fisheye lens, and I'm hoping to get a MASSIVE zoom lens, but I don't think I'll get much larger than a 500mm zoom without blowing upwards of $1k. My price limit is probably $150-$200 for the zoom lens (55-200/250), but I think I will get more use out of it than the other lenses.

I photograph weddings throughout the summers, so I'd also like to get some flash and lighting equipment, but I think I may wait until I can afford a better camera. IDK, maybe this one will do alright. I'll have to see how it works out.

If I upgrade, it will probably be to a Pentax K10D, which is like 10.2mp, and can be controlled completely from a computer. . . That would be sweet.

The Minolta uses 2x CR2 batteries, which last quite a while, actually. The lens isn't an 18-55mm zoom like I thought originally, but it's a 35-80mm zoom/macro AF lens. Very nice lens, very versatile. Whoever buys this will NOT be disappointed!

is the kodak a digital camera? I know absolutly nothing about cameras other than you point them at what you want and squeeze the trigger, LOL.

Yes, it's a digital camera. 5.0 MegaPixels, and 10X zoom, so the pics I've taken with it are very clear.

Oh, and if anyone knows of any deals, I'm looking for a K-Mount Pentax 55-250mm zoom lens, a macro lens (also K-Mount), a K-Mount 70-300mm Tele-Macro lens, and some studio lighting. Stands, strobes, reflectors, umbrellas, sockets and cords, boom stands, box lighting, etc. Just some basic stuff to get started, portable stuff would be great since it will be loaded into the truck and taken with me on occasion.

Kodak SOLD to Kyle (K0261886) as of a few hours ago. Great to hang out with you Kyle, the car looks great and runs better (as demonstrated by my embarrassment on Ogden...lol) I hope you enjoy it, and I think you'll get plenty of use out of it!
