they have cover plates as you can see in the pics, usually they are attached by 3 wing nuts but I just used regular nuts to be able to tighten them more.Doing less with more

they are mostly for track use or dyno or something like that. Or you could do what i would do and leave them out almost always so it is stupid loud

Me too! Whoever picks these up must install and use them! One thing im not sure was mentioned or not, but 2.5" pipe was ran into these 3" cutouts and welded (I ordered 2.5" cutouts but summit sent me 3" cutouts and i said screw it and used them anyway).
