Toyo Proxes R1R Tires - 275/40/17 - Brand New!

I'??m selling a set of 4 brand new Toyo Proxes R1R tires in 275/40/17 size. For those familiar with these tires, they are AMAZING! Many folks use them for autocross/track, some Iike them as daily drivers for warm weather cars.

I sold my WS6 and never put them on. They've been properly stored since the summer and haven’t been moved. They still have the stickers.

You won't find a new set of these for any less than $900. I'm selling these for $650. First come, first serve!

I don't really need anything that aggressive, but then again, my commute is only 8 miles, and I do drive aggressively. I even have fairly aggressive camber in it. Seems like these would be a nice upgrade from the BFG gforce I'm running now.

That is an understatement.

I'll be on my fifth year running Dunlop Direzza ZIIs (same "class" of tire - Extreme Performance Summer Tire) on my Cobalt, and while they're noisy (for a while when they were new, they rivaled A/T tires for noise), and the tramline like crazy - they stick to EVERYTHING. Makes for a hell of a fun time driving the car, since it has the suspension to back the grip up.

Crap, I looked at my back tires last night. I'm not sure what happened (hehehehe), but they're down to the minimum tread depth nubs in the center 6" of tread. Oops! I've chewed them up pretty good in the last couple months. Perhaps a few too many burnouts and powerslides.

If you do buy these, just be aware that, in the winter (unless you have a heated garage), you'll want to store the tires inside your house. And they can't be drive on in near or sub-freezing temps. I even get hesitent around 40 with mine, due to the potential for loss in grip.

But their grip is well worth the extra work.

Oh, I imagine it would be worth it. I do have poor self control, and I've had the T/A in 38 ish degree weather several times. Even the BFGs I have now, at least the old Gforce Super Sports on the back, lose a lot of grip at those temps. I'm usually just happy to have the car out at that point though.

Carrying those down into the basement wouldn't be fun. I guess I better install a furnace in the garage. Otherwise, I'd be just crazy enough to build a "wheel box" and heat just that.

I carry six sets of wheels and tires up from and back down into my basement twice a year (three cars' worth). You get used to it, haha.

The wheel totes, with handles on top, help quite a bit.

Good grief, fellas. I'm sorry for not responding. I thought I had setup alerts for when folks replied to this thread and apparently I didn't.

I still have them. I just went out and checked the date codes. 3 of the 4 are dated 09/15 and the 4th is 03/14. I'm not sure why the one is different, as I bought them all from a tire dealership last summer. They are all in perfect condition, have been stored properly and are nice and soft. They are amazing tires.
