  • 1988 Camaro IROC-Z $2,000 obo

It is an L98(350 TPI), G92 (3.27 gear 9bolt) car. It has 188k kilometers on it (Canadian car) which is roughly 120k miles. It has not been driven since early last summer around the beginning of July. Apparently the oil was low and it seems like the rod/main bearings had seized up, although I cannot say for sure. I think it is safe to say the engine will need to be rebuilt.

    Engine/Exhaust:
    Edelbrock TES headers, Flowmaster catback
    Crane gold 1.6 roller rockers
    AS&M large tube runners
    Accel lower intake, 23# injectors
    ported intake plenum

    Transmission: 700R4
    B&M shift kit
    B&M 2500 stall

    Exterior/Interior:
The car is white with the yellow/silver stripe kit. The body is in pretty good shape but will need some work with the paint. It has very minor surface rust on the hood, roof, and decklid. The car is missing the "5.7 tuned port injection" and "IROC-Z" badges on the rear bumper. It has grey cloth interior and it is in very great shape. The only rip is the notorious drivers seat tear, which is on the bottom left of the seat.

    Misc:
It has two brand new rear tires which are Doral 245/50/16. Maybe 100 miles on them. The front tires should be replaced though.
Older model Pioneer headunit and Pioneer 6x9s in the rear.
    A/C and heat both work.

I cannot speak for the previous owners but I was not hard on this car. I liked to cruise it rather than beat on it. Every once in a while I would get on it (as with any car). This car was reliable for me everyday, excpet for one .

Hey. Im pretty interested here. You say the motor was low on oil and you think the main bearings had seized. Did you try to turn it over and it wouldnt budge... or?

I was driving it and it seemed like it was making some weird noise, a little bit after that it got really loud and could barely get the rpms up, it was shaking really bad at 30mph and the tach kept going up and down. Again, I'm not sure if it is actually the bearings, it could be a broken rod or something. Whatever it is it will need to be rebuilt.

I was hoping it was the torque converter or something but when we popped the hood you could clearly tell it was coming from the engine, oil pressure was fine.
