How does the lower intake work? Will it work for this application?

Are you trying to put a air lid on your car? The intakes are for the straight tb 99+ 3.8l engines. You could do a conversion but it would be a pain in the butt because you would have to switch tb's, wiring, the intakes, and probably some other stuff. Then you have to worry about hood clearance for the air lid as well.

I want forced air induction without swapping my stock hood. Im looking to set up a duct system leading from the front clip dams to the air box.

forced induction would be a turbo or supercharger.... you are just looking for what's commonly known as a "free ram" modd... but yeah anything like that wouldn't help..... you would probably lower intake temps a little bit with some air ducts to your intake

yeah really a regualr CAI kit or homemade one would work better just ditch your current stock air filter box and route a high flow filter out of the engine bay... it will give you better mpg and keep the intake cooler as for power you can gain maybe 5-10 over stock depending how restricted the stock setup is now...

Is it possible to make use of 2 x CAI's will it hinder / help performance? I'm thinking one on each side.

its possibal would be more for looks but the more cold air you can get into the engine the better...longer engine life better fuel economy... and a little extra power... nice sound to go with it for a nice setup with like K&N filters your looking at like 150 bucks for a dual filter setup... or you could just get a regular high flow filter make sure you keep it clean like a K&N be about 75 bucks...

I don't think it would hinder or improve with two over one I'd say just do one and make it easier on yourself.

ya its not going to do anymore than one... and if you do it right you wont even see the filters anyway... you will just see a big hose comming outta the engine bay into the fender or bumper...
