What was the reason for modifying a LS1 trans mount to fit a LT1

LS1 trans mounts are supposedly better than LT1 mounts... alot of people have done it. All you have to do is grind off a metal lip to make it fit. i should have shown that in the picture.

the gauge is new in box, and goes for $50 new!
