Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Yep, lot of people have good results with STS, but they do have their downfalls. Good is no heat in engine bay, more space, etc. Bad is the charge pipes run low, clearance is an issue if lowered. Lag is more of a concern, people will say turbo+v8=no lag, but they do spool noticeable slower i've heard due to the turbine being so far off the manifold, and the heat doesnt stay in as well. Heat wrapping the entire hotside helps this. Bad also is the turbos, they seem like bottle necks, the 60-1 turbo seems to be a joke, you can run 6 psi or so on a stock engine fine, but once you try to shoot over 500 rwhp with it people are popping headgaskets and other issues due to too much backpressure. Another downfall is the oil return set up. I have and personally hate scavenge designs, always seem to cause some kind of issues. The way a stock sts is, is to have the return to the oil fill cap which seems to cause issues with the hot oil from the turbo dumping on the valvetrain and some have experienced the fitting coming loose and shooting hot oil all over the engine bay. Also, they dont run an intercooler so you can run too much boost on a stock system as your IATs will be much too high. Add an intercooler or spray some meth, maybe even both and that cures the problem. Those are just some differences with rear mounts, but the install seems much easier, they do make power, they do work, good for street car if your not lowered too much, just you wont see too many extreme set ups with them due to circumstances above. Just thought i'd toss in some turbo knowledge. For $3k getting turbo'd is a great deal! Might think to add an intercooler to that kit if someone buys it.

That would have to be a full custom job. I believe the only twin kit sts makes is the kit for the vette.... However i have seen one guy over on ls1tech make a full custom twin rearmount on his fbody, so it can be done!
