Hey guys,
I just wanted to share some of my frustrating experience with ChevyMall. On 10/13 I purchased their new Camaro Euro jacket. The website didn't say anything about being in stock or not being in stock, nothing about any delays and the e-mail I received said it would be shipping in 1-2 days. It also stated if there were any delays, I would be notified.
On 10/20, I still had not heard any news and - anxious for my jacket to arrive - I gave a friendly phone call to Chevy Mall just to see what the status was. The representative on the other line sounded familiar with my order and went to check on something, came back on the phone and said that he has the tracking number in hand saying it was being shipped from Boston to California and then it will be shipped to me. Although it seemed pretty inefficient, atleast it was a semi-tangible update of where it was in the process and that was sufficient to me.
Today, 10/23, I checked the order status on ChevyMall to see if maybe I'd have a tracking number or saying preparing to be shipped or something and it says "Back Ordered, No Shipment Set"
So I figured - OK it was being shipped to ChevyMall in California, maybe it's a mistake. I give them a call at 4:00pm EST, and the recording says "I'm sorry, but our office is currently closed. Our hours are Monday through Thursday, 9am to 3pm Pacific, and Friday 9am to 2pm Pacific." 3 hours behind - it's only 1pm Pacific time and they're closed.
C'mon now - already have a super lax schedule and they can't stay the full 9am to 2pm shift?
So now I have to wait until Monday to get any information out of them. If they don't tell me that it's on the way to my house, I'm canceling the order. Completely unacceptable that their site says nothing about it being on backorder, their e-mails state that I'd be updated of any delays, I'm told that it's on the way to California and now they say it's on backorder... well what happened to my jacket when it got to California then?
I should've bought the jacket off of ebay - they have a ton available - but I thought I'd rather support the company directly than purchase it through a different vendor.
Guess I learned that lesson.
