EXACTLY. I've tried going to banks and getting financing for cars before, and there is no way anyone would give me a loan unless I had a parent as a primary and myself as a cosigner. I'm trying to go through a dealer since I have no credit. Beleive me, if I could get financing for OT's car, I would SO do it. I love that car, and I want it more than any Monte Carlo any day of the week, but there is no way I can get a bank to finance that. Too bad Jasen won't take like $500 cash every month until it's paid off. Then I would jump on it.

I might do a deal like that till its paid off, but while its in my name it'll sit here. You can have it once it's paid off. Sorry.

I think Nick knows what he wants he just has $0 cash for it. Are you prepared to surrender $200-300 a month just for a car payment? Plus you will have to carry full coverage on the car until it is paid off. I am paying about $150-200 for that per month. It is required in a loan so that if you were to damage the car the bank gets paid first. Plus there are many other costs involved gas, maintainence, school and fun. Can you realistically afford to spend all that? I know you have a job now but thats a lot of money and also a lot of liability.

You should just sell your car to me and buy a reliable car. I will take care of it and you get a better car.

Or have you ever considered parting out your car? You would get more for the parts than you would for the car altogether. This guy is gonna get some cash and that car is rough and it not all there.

Each of those monthly bills are $50. Then my $60 verizon wireless bill, and $30 every month for MiFbody and Meissenation's hosting. That's only $200 per month, but trust me, that has taken a HUGE toll on how much money I have paycheck to paycheck.

yeah really payments that you can just barely afford suck. u have no money for doing anything. when i had one last year when i could barely afford it i didn;t do anything but work. i couldnt afford to go out and do a single thing. but really hw much per week are you making.? lest say you make 200 a week i would not hve a payment anymore then whatever one week is that way i knowi have money to pay for insurance gas and any otherthing that may come up

That's what sucks is that I thought "Hey, I make about $750 a month, I should be able to handle $200 in payments, that leaves me $450 left over!" Yeah, then add in gas refill every week ($120, $30 per week) you're down to $320, figure you spend $20 per week on food [come on, how easy is that to spend $20 a week? I rack up $10 bills at Wendies just for me!!!], that's another 80 taken out... now you're down to $260... and that's for the WHOLE MONTH. Break that down by 4 weeks, you're talkin $65 of "available" cash each week, and I'm not even adding in insurance or other stuff.

i pay about $600 a month in payments at least, its insane i dont know how i afford it all with gas food etc. i think i have my head burried preety deep for a 19 yr old kid, but some how i have never missed a payment and i find a way to drop thousands of dollars into my car?? First thing you need to do is make sure you can afford the insurance. I sold cars to plenty of people that could afford the car payment,but when it came to insurance they couldn't do both. And that supercharger can't be cheap for someone young. Not trying to burst your bubble,just trying to help out.

What would you all suggest then? My camaro isn't going to last forever. I'd rather spend the extra money now and get the car I've always wanted and not have to worry about buying something else down the road. I've been looking at all of my dream cars, Porsche, Jaguar V12's, Corvettes (I've found a couple of promising vette's for under $8k. . . Let's just say over 500 hp. . . ) I'd love to have a LS1 Camaro or Firebird, but I know insurance is going to be high. From what I've heard, it's actually cheaper to insure a Vette than an F-Body since the vette is less likely to be driven as often, and usually older people are the ones that can afford it. I've never spent more than $1200 on a car, and if you look at the car's I've owned, it shows. I want to have a car that will hold it's own at the track, be reliable enough that I can drive it long distances without worrying about breaking down, looks drop-dead gorgeous after a polish and wax, and can be insured and paid for for less than what I make each month. I make about $500 a month after taxes, that's 20 hrs a week, and I love my job. I actually look forward to working. I've looked into the Monte Carlo SS Supercharged, and it seems to be what I would like to have, but it only pulls about 15.2 at the track. Another V6 F-Body is out of the question, I want to be able to say I have a fast car. I'm sick of people talking down to me because I only have a V6 when what I want and can finally see in my reach is a V8 Camaro. LT1, LS1, it doesn't really matter. A Corvette would be awesome. What do you all think? I'm buying a car, I don't know what kind, but I'm buying one soon. I have to go to a dealer to get financed, since I have no credit, and I'm going to leave the dealer with a car. I would like to spend as little as possible, but I'm willing to pay extra to get something I will love. I'm 18, I've got my whole life ahead of me, I know. Here's the thing. If I end up getting married in the next few years, what wife would ever let me spend $10,000+ on a car that she can't drive? Any suggestions as to makes/models that I may be interested in are more than welcome. Sound advice, thanks man. My point is that I am going to be forced into buying a different car soon anyway, and I'd rather get one I want then one that will get me by. As you stated, yes, I do tend to change my mind a lot. I didn't want a 3rd gen Firebird. I wanted a 3rd gen Camaro. I almost bought that car, but the seller sold it the day I went to pick it up. I do still want a LS1 Camaro, and orange is my color of choice. I asked to see what kind of Monte Carlo's were on the market, I'm still looking at all of my options. Just because to some people it's just a car doesn't mean it's not something more to me. Ask Ben, I use my car to express myself, to have fun with on the weekends, and to also drive from A to B. My car has always meant more to me than other people's cars do to them. My car shows other people who I am. At this point, my college is paid for. I will have very few, if any, student loans to deal with until about 5 years from now. I travel a lot during breaks from school and stuff, and let's face it, my car has 270,000 miles on the odometer, a mean ticker, it uses oil pretty badly, it has exhaust leaks, and it's got some substantial body damage. It's not going to last long. I've been thinking about it, and I am not going to take out a loan to buy a mediocre car that I'm going to hate driving. I'm going to buy the car that will make me happy, that I can have fun in, and can still trust to drive over 500 miles to see my girlfriend over Christmas break. I need a new car. It's just that simple. If other people can have a nice car, I think I can too. Keep in mind, I am determined to meet my goal of driving a different car in the next couple of weeks. I'm going this week to look around the local dealers to see what they have to offer. I'm thinking I'm most likely going to go with another F-Body, probably a 4th gen V8. I'm hoping to get a LS1, but IDK if I'll find one around here. I know where you're coming from, Alex, but I think that my car means more to me then most other people's do to them. I have an oppurtunity before me, and this is how I choose to follow it. I hope you can understand and respect that. I've caught flak about having a V6 for pretty much the entire year I've owned my car, and it's starting to piss me off. I decided that I'm not pleased with the V6 anymore. It's given me problem after problem, and I'm not going to put up with it anymore. EGR Valve is bad. Exhaust has multiple leaks. The frame is bent. The front pass. Fender is cracked. There are multiple rust holes in the body. The synchros in the trans are starting to go. The clutch is behaving oddly. Everything is going wrong at once, and I want out. The whole time I've had my car, everyone has tried to convince me to buy a V8 car. Now that I'm taking the initiative to actually bring a V8 Camaro into my driveway, everyone's trying to convince me otherwise. Not going to happen. I'm tired of being the slow guy on the block. It's Nick's turn, and I'm not stopping until I've gotten what I set out for in the first place.
