The pedals wouldn't bother me, makes it easier to install the correct trans back into the car......And some of the other stuff sounds like what should be expected for a 200,000+ mile F-body......Just Say'n.......Seems like with a little negotation, and a little TLC this could be a "well bought" car.

Yea I wasn't expecting it to be perfect butthe list was much longer and at the time he was firm on the price. I agree if it could be bought for 3800-4000 it could have potential.

Bri2203 wants a $10,000 F-Body for cheap. Nothings done poorly on the car but some plastics were removed because the previous owner
was racing it. The plastics can be purchased cheaply, it needs a battery hold down( which can be done cheaply). The front and read bumper supports are removed which is common on F- Bodies. Bri2203 showed up in a rough looking gutted interior F-Body and wanted to buy my car for the same price he paid for his.

Its a good car. Im being as up front as possible about what it needs.

dude back off the cool aid for a moment. You have no idea what kind of shape Brian's car is in. It's gutted cause he made it that way. When Brian bought that car it wad way nicer then what I see pictured. Brian told me about this car cause I was considering it but he said you where firm at 4500 and I told him I thought it was a 3800 car. Brian stole his car which was 100% complete with 80k on engine and a T56... Much more desirable. He made it rough and stripped out because he is racing it ...

You're right I dont have any idea the shape the car is in now but I saw it then and commented on the shape it was in when I saw it. IMO my car is in better shape but thats a matter of opinion. I never stated I was firm on the price, he didnt make an offer or try to negotiate on the price.

This is how our meet went. I pulled up ,poped the hood and he started immediately trying to pick the car apart. I told him any input he had would be appreciated because I knew right then he was going to try to steal it or wasnt a buyer.

His complaints were that he thought the radiator hose was soft , the plastics such as air deflector was missing and the bumper supports were removed. He never heard it run, checked fluids or drove the car. So when he says he started naming things that were done wrong left and right I dont know where thats coming from.

Your location say Warren and Im in Sterling Heights. Ill bring the car to you when you're free and you can tell me what you thinks its worth. I'll even buy dinner. I appreciate any honest feedback I can get. If its only worth 3800 Ill keep.

Brian knows his cars, that much is for sure.

Personally, I'd like to see the car but it's a long drive just to check it out. High mileage without paperwork is a cause for concern but I wouldn't pass on it solely because of that. Missing airdam, crash pads, etc. does raise some flags for me. Being a prior M6 car that's ready to go back without changing a bunch of things is a plus for the right buyer, the 1500-2000 dollar investment to do so is a turn off. Seats, dashpad, and stereo issues add to that.

I'm not trying to get you to drop the price, it's just what I see here. I love the look of the car but could not justify paying the asking price.

I dont doubt that Brian knows his cars. I'm not try to discredit the guy or anything, if it seems that way then Brian I apologize. It was apparent that the car wasnt for him within a couple of minutes. I appreciate the feedback he gave me because he didnt have to stick around and do that.

My issue is he came in here and said he is not surprised it havent sold because he saw it and it was all kinds of things wrong with it. To me this implies I've had multiple potential buyers but there is so much wrong with it and thats why I havent sold it. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive but the truth is Brian and one older guy are the only ones to come see it. I never said I was firm on the price and what I guess what could be an offer is him saying " I would have to do too much to get the car the way I want it so I would have to get it really cheap".

I thought I priced it fair and based on the replies when I first posted it , it seemed fair. Anyway the price is Best offer.

I was not going to reply but I feel it might calm down the storm. I only spoke up yesterday as Scott showed interest in the car and I didn't want him to drive three hours to be disappointed or mislead.
Yes my Camaro does not have an interior, like Darren said I made it that way. I agree it's rough but I enjoy it.
If the firebird was not as molested or had receipts I would be more comfortable paying a higher price. Yes some of the things were easy fixes but I know most 5 minute fixes take 30 minutes after discovering another band aid. I recall asking if your price was firm but I am not here to argue that point. I didn't see a point in taking it for a ride after I noticed we had a sizable difference in monetary value. When you say "I'll just keep it". Driving it would have only wasted your time and mine.

I'm sorry we couldn't reach an agreement. Good luck on the sale.

Thank you for that response Brian. Well said!

So now we have everybody's take on it. Let's keep the "for sale" thread as that, a for sale thread, where people can show interest or the seller can make updates.

Sultan I think you have an interesting Firebird there. If I were you I wouldn't be ashamed to keep it, improve it, and enjoy it for a while longer. Given the time of season we're coming into it might make a good "winter project" where you could address some of the things Brian has pointed out. Any dedicated F-Body buyer is going to notice those items and shy away. The less excuses you have to make for the car the better off you're going to be in the long run.
