    Thats the important part.

Now if someone was all that heartbroken about it buy his 89 before the tally goes to 7 in the 3rd gen column.

Haha I figured - if Brian's buying SFC's for a 4th gen I figured he must have bought this car.

Starting to sound like this one will be the track car...

Bingo, already had LS and 6 speed installed so now we don't have to swap the other drivetrain into the 3rd gen, manual windows/locks perfect for track car more wheel and tire options, more availability of aftermarket parts like SFC, STB shocks, springs, roll bars, etc. in the end this car made more sense for Brian to be on the course this coming season.

Plus Darren gets to buy all the parts he collected for the third gen lol

It has all the indicators that this is a 1LE car...should be RPO Y2Y on the sticker...pretty rare car if it is...

And fitting that it becomes a track car...

Well Darren said it pretty well! I would prefer to proceed with the 3rd gen but I'm not sure I would have it ready for the spring. Buying a 4th gen means weight reduction, brake and suspension upgrades. I might hang on to the third gen but if someone offers me enough money for it, I will sell it.

I'll look when I get home, where are the RPO's on 4th gens?

Good question...SLP created the RPO stickers for the 1LEs as a second separate sticker inside the car (you couldn't get a 1LE from the factory).

                    So...center console? Glovebox? Door jamb?

Easiest and surest way to find out is get the VIN to SLP and let them confirm or deny it...

Worked out good for everyone! I am glad someone is going to make use of the factory lightweight status of that car.

I looked up the VIN and it wasn't a legit 1LE. Surprisingly, the Hurst wasn't factory either (I thought it was).

Yep, in 01 they opened it up so you could equip one with almost anything...not like '99 or previous...
