  • 2001 Z28 Camaro - *SOLD*

Well, this was my project car this year that I never quite had a chance to work on. I worked on my garage until the snow flew, and this car is pretty much untouched from when I got it running this past spring. I need to sell it as is. I bought the car a year ago as a roller from WhiteOut (he has a build thread on Motown Muscle which shows pictures of him tearing out the motor from this car). He bought it to pull the motor for his LS1 Porsche project, sold me what was left.

It is a pretty rare build. It has no power windows, no power locks, no power hatch, no key fob. The only options it has are t-tops and hurst shifter. The drawback is that there is no cruise control either.

    Drivetrain:
    - Stock LS1 with SLP lid and bellows.
    - Mac Mid length headers, new Dynomax mid pipes, new Dynomax VT muffler (with a pressure valve). Tailpipes are pretty lame - I reused what was on the car. There are tips on tips - that is all I am saying. Zero drone is all that matters to me. It is rubbing a bit where it goes over the axle, though. I was going to fix it once I got it on a hoist. Never did.
    - Replacement engine is from a 2000 TA with around 70,000 miles when it was pulled. This cars runs STRONG. Burned no oil this summer when I drove it.
    - The car sets a few codes - one intermittently for voltage balance between the PCM and alternator. The rest were all EGR, air, rear 02 and I blocked them all.
    - Trans is tight, stock clutch. Factory Hurst shifter.
    - Rear is dead quiet. It has a Jasper tag on it so I am assuming it is a rebuild. Stock 3.42 gear.
    - Wheels are gray Z06. A couple of them are rashed up a little and I attached a pic of the worst one. All the tires have at least 50% tread. If it is important, I can go measure it.
    - The AC is all there, but it is not charged. I do not know if it will hold or not. It probably needs new seals and a thorough flushing.
    - I will offer free tuning support to the buyer. I don't have the original tune, but what's in it works so I haven't messed with it too much.

    Body:
-There are 183,xxx miles on the body. The body is rust free. I took some pics of the underbody, and other than a protective layer of dirt, it is super clean for a car this old with this many miles.
-There is a dent at the back of the passenger door. You can see it in a pic. It looks like somebody rubbed a post or something.
    - Front and rear fascias both need paint. I think they were poorly painted before.
    - I have a factory "Sport" body kit in white that is not installed. See back to the part where I didn't work on this car all summer.
    - I have new badges for it that I bought from a member here, too. The ones on it now look ridiculous.
    - Widows are tinted very lightly. Rear hatch is probably due for replacement, but doors are fine.

    Suspension:
    - KYB shocks of unknown miles.
    - Eibach pro kit on front. I replaced the rear springs with stockers because the ride was too harsh. I still have the Eibachs for the rear if you need to jar a filling loose or something.
    - The rest is stock.
    - Brakes are fine. Had to replace one of the lines that WhiteOut damaged when dropping the cradle. The ABS is missing the wheel sensor plug to the front left wheel, so the light is on all the time. I hate ABS, so other than the light it doesn't really bother me.

    Interior:
    - Seats are nearly new. So new they are still sitting on my garage floor. I figured I would put them in when I needed to, no point in wearing them before I sold it. So you get a worn set and a like new set with the car.
    - I replaced a couple pieces on the dash. There is a crappy MP3 radio with no CD. I have a couple sets of replacement speakers since most of the factory ones in it are blown. They are in a bag in the house. You get them too. More projects for you! Hell yea!
    - T-Top holders are also not installed, they are sitting next to the seats.
    - There are a couple electrical issues in the car - rear defog doesn't work, e-brake pull doesn't activate light.

Here are the pics. PM me with any questions. I am asking $4200 and I am pretty firm on this price (putting it on Craigslist for $4500). Unless you are standing next to me with a pile of $100 bills, I am not taking any offers. I can be reached via email at somegeoffguy@yahoo.com or just PM me here.

This car could help turn the Red Beast in to a REAL beast!

The one thing I wonder about is if the engine harness would work with my car -- I have cruise and I intend to keep it. If this car didn't have it, would I have to find a new engine harness, or is cruise actually part of the body harness?

The purple 1968? That car lived on. I have bought 18 f-bodies however 9 of them didn't make it but parts of them live on in other cars.
