  • 2000 ws6 need help

Hey need some opinions on this car.. What's do you think is a fair price for it? Also what makes it so rare?

    Here is a better link
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=...822%26_rdc%3D1

It is low side for miles but I don't see is being bid up much higher than what it is because it is an automatic.

idk, I don't buy the rarity angle completely -- WS6s aren't common, but they're not exactly that rare -- I'll bet he means there were only 233 WS6s made in 2000 that were red and had automatics. Sure looks like a beautifully maintained car though.

The guy is full of shit. He rattled off every option possible "Formula Trans Am WS6" to make it sound rare. Unfortunately for him, he was stupid enough to include a picture of the RPO codes in the link to additional pictures:

        http://cressmanphotography.zenfolio....4687/e2982de8d

RPO code for Formula is W66 and WS9.
RPO code for Trans Am is WS4
        RPO code for WS6 is ... WS6.

It only has WS9. Meaning it's a base Formula, not a Trans Am and not a WS6. Someone cloned it to be all that.

That said - it's still a really nice car but I wouldn't pay too much of a premium over it. It has the ram air package on it so you do get the added benefits of the WS6 but it's not a real WS6.

Ws6 are more common than a standard Trans Am.
he has it listed as a formula WS6=233. Its not a formula...
          All V8 cars are WS9's

You're right - did some more searching...

            WS9 + W66 means Formula
            WS9 + Y82 means Trans Am.

The car is a Trans Am, not a WS6 and not a Formula.

Sounds like the only thing thats somewhat rare is the low mileage.

Yep, that's BS. Trying to sell a clone as the real thing.. Unless I am looking at it wrong, that air lid is off a 93-97 ram air car.. You can not see the air filter in the 98-02 cars. Wonder if he bought it thinking it was a real WS6.

Edit: I emailed the seller and told him he does not have a real WS6.. Wonder what he will say?

From what I've read, those 93-97 ram air lids are very hard to find..
