  • Sighting F/S 1987 Pontiac Trans Am

I looked at a 1987 Trans Am this evening that I pass on the way home.
    Burgundy and silver 2 tone

    305 Carb'd. 33,000 original miles
Excellent shape overall. Underneath is spotless - very friggin clean.
All body panels are straight, plastic is straight, aero wing on the back.
Was a Pep car from Saginaw Steering gear that one of my managers owned (Not fleet).
Now for sale near the corner of Tittabawassee Rd. and Midland Rd. (M-47) in Freeland, MI.
I'll have to update this with a phone number tomrrow...sorry.

    He's asking $8500.

Is it just me or does that seem really high priced?

      It's not mine - it's at a dealer/storage place.

Seems high, but I've seen other cherry cars around this vintage going for around this money.
If it were black on black, mabee. Burgundy, not so much.
I would think that's a $5-6500K car. If it were a 350 and TBI or TPI may help its price. But it's a 305 carb'd.

I posted it in the event someone was looking for a cherry Trans Am, jump in it and go with no fuss.

If I pay $8500 for a mid-80s GM product, It better be a 89 GTA black on black or any cherry 83-87 Olds 442/Hurst Olds. Way more bang for your buck.

Apparently according to this Gent, 1987 was the last year for the carb. It looked original, didnt look molested.
Window sticker quotes the LG4 5.0L 4bbl carb.

Well sort of a dealer. It's his friends car, and he's just helping him sell it on his lot.
Honestly the price is a "Feeler" price. I bet he'd take $6500-7 if I offered it.

It was there last year as well though.

I would say its on the higher side of the market but its still going to bring more then your average thirdgen.

DId you check E-bay? I bought my cluster for my truck from a seller on there.
Completely new, and updated with all of the "Fixes" plus a trans temp guage for $250 - and he corrects your mileage.
I think he does reman clusters for around $100-150

There are folks out there that do conversions, updates, and replacements
