  • Cam / Stall '98 Camaro z28. Low 12 sec street car.

I just finished building the car but I found out I'm moving to Texas at the end of the month for work. I don't have to sell the car, but it'd make my move a lot easier, and people had interest in buying it at the track so I figured I'd see if anyone was interested.

I just drove the car 60 miles to Milan yesterday, made 4 passes at No ET, and drove it home. It's a ready to go car that had no issues in stop and go construction traffic or with the cruise control on at 70 mph.

    $10,000 OBO

    1998 Camaro z28
Cam & stall street / strip car tuned by Dr. Phil.
    350 WHP, 350 Ft Lbs
12.24 @ 110 w/ 1.77 60 foot launching at idle. Launch this thing hard and I see it having no problem going high 11's. I didn't want to break the stock rear.

2nd Owner. Bought the car completely stock.
138k Miles, <1000 miles on all the aftermarket parts
T-Tops, full interior, working stereo, heat, AC, rear defrost, power seat.

    Texas Speed MS4 Cam: 239/242 .649"/.609" 111 LSA
    Yank SS3600 Torque Converter
Full UMI adjustable suspension: Welded in subframe connectors, crossmember mounted torque arm w/ driveshaft loop, control arms, control arm relocators, panhard bar.
Pacesetter long tube headers, Texas speed y-pipe, Texas speed rumbler cat-back.
Weld ProStars w/ MT ET Streets using wheel spacers.

Stock 4l60e, stock 3.23 rear end, stock LS1 intake, stock heads, still has EGR.

    Specifics:
    Trans cooler: http://www.jegs.com/i/Derale/259/13700/10002/-1
Racetronix in-tank fuel pump w/ all options: http://www.racetronix.com/RX-F98-FPKG-2.html
New NGK TR55 Iridium plugs w/ new wires.
    ARP wheel studs.
    Lid
    Motovative solid motor mounts
    Poly trans mount
    ARP Rod bolts
High volume, high pressure oil pump
Brand new harmonic balancer (new bolt & seal) w/ new serpentine & AC belts.
    New rear brakes.
    Engine has all new gaskets.
    New fuel filter
Stock calipers ground to fit the pro stars.

I may be missing something but I'm pretty sure I covered everything, feel free to ask.

The rear end posi is starting to go as you can see in the video.

When I bought the car it was supposedly the previous owner's wife's DD. He had a fully documented maintenance record on the car that I still have. Very little rust for a 140k mile Michigan car.

Note: It does not have the belt squeak any more that was in that video.

Well the car doesn't have to go, but people at the track were interested, and everything is for sale at the right price

I am surprised you are considering selling after putting so much work into it!
I understand your position, I am gonna list my corvette for sale for a high price as well. If it sells GREAT if not I will use it next year.

looks like a really nice car! i dont see you getting 12k for it tho, with that many miles and needing a rear end rebuilt, but good luck on the sale and the move

If you keep it, some 4.10's and a LS6 intake would really wake it up.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Good Luck with the sale! Looks like my car just a few inches taller and no tint and a satin grill rather than gloss If you do keep it, or for the next guy, I agree with Don above 100% on the LS6 intake and some gears! that'll get that in the 11's I would imagine no problem with just those two mods alone!

That car really moves for 350 rwhp - some 243's would likely really help that big cam out and easily get it into the 11's. Good luck!
