  • FS: maybe 1990 Firebird

Well I'm thinking about selling my car to get well a mustang. No not really looking to get an 85 TA with a 350 tpi. Just throwing it out there, if anyone is intrested PM me and i can give you any info you ask me for.

Just thought I'd let you know, the 350TPI wasnt available until 1986. If that's advertised as an original 85 350tpi its really a 305.

no its not advertised as original 350 tpi, the guy said he bought a gm 350 crate and put the tpi system on there. He said it was repainted 4 years ago, and it pretty much had a full restoration, besides the brake lines. He said hes off to college and he just needs the money. Hes gonna send me some pics soon and i'll post em up on here. But yeah I know you wanna buy it. It would be great for parts for your other GTA, everything but motor and trans.

If he put the TPI onto it then hes running a 350 crate motor on a 305 memcal and 19lb injectors.

350s have a different memcal, which still wouldnt be perfect (diff cam in crate motor then stock) and they have 22lb injectors. The memcal isnt a big deal though you can get a moates G1 adapter and some Atmel chips and burn your own PROM chips using Tunerpro RT. It also works well for datalogging... plug laptop into port under dash, hit record and drive around. Then you can replay your drive on the computer and it displays all the readouts so you can tune it in.

well what if hes running a tpi setup from a 350? then would everything be functioning how it should be?

It would likely be close... depending on if its a MAF or SD conversion. SD doesnt like different cams, MAF is a little more forgiving.

i'll ask him that tomorrow, hopefully its MAF because then it would be less of a pain in the ass with mods and "stuff". Ever heard of people converting to MAF, i've heard of people doing it the other way around so they can stick there air filter on the TB and suck in some hot air.

Yeah I guess youd have to run 2 new wires and do some repinning at the ECM but I'd imagine you can follow the MAF->SD guide backwards.

I don't see anything about a price. Most people on this site will shoot it down because it is a V6 and as OT would say a "TURD GEN". But what do they know.

Well if your asking about a price on my car, I don't really know, i guess the most someone will give me for it but it has to be reasonable.
