I need to put some cash in my pocket due to some unforseen circumstances so I'm offering my 1978 Malibu up for sale. I have over $9500 invested in the last year. Here is the basics on the car
1962 Small Journal 327 that's .040 over
forged 4 bolt mains
cross drilled forged steel crank
10.48:1 compression with the 1968 double hump 1.94 heads with brand new Summit Racing upgraded valve springs
advertised 296/296 cam .472 lift 108 or 106 lsa, I don't remembe off hand
Edelbrock performer RPM intake
one month old Holley 750 DP mechanical secondary carb
Weind Aluminum water pump
Stock HEI and MSD Steetfire HEI both go with car
Taylor 8mm high temp wires
High temp boots on every wire
Headman shorty headers
Custom Exhaust just done ( a little over $400 ) 2 1/2" pipe with x pipe, manual cutouts and Flowpro mufflers with turn downs
Ridings Built 2004R with 2400-2600 lockup converter
B&M quicksilver shifter with aluminum T handle
8.5 10 Bolt from a 1987 Grand National with posi and 3.42 gears
New rear springs, shocks, brakes
15x7 Camaro Rally's up front with 15x8 Corvette rally's in the rear ( real wheels not repro's )
BF goodrich tires
New black carpet goes with the car so you can finish the interior
You will be very hard pressed to find a cleaner car especially the trunk floors and frame. Here is the video just taken yesterday of the car. I'm asking $8000 or looking for some cash my way and a LT1 automatic car. May consider a decent 3rd gen and some cash. Basically I need some cash in my hand so don't be afraid to shoot me an offer but please be realistic with your offer. This is one of the nicest Malibus around and although it's not perfect, it wouldn't take much to make it perfect. I can't say for sure where these cars will go in value, but it seems over the last few months you see more and more of these that have been cut up and caged and turned into full blown race cars and from what I've seen it's making the value on a real street car like this go up.
