  • FS: $2350 obo 4th gen

1999 Camaro 3.8 L with 106k. New transmission installed less than 1 year ago with 12k on it. It has ttops (no leaks).Have pretty much all the papers for the work that has been performed on the car. Recent tuneup done, changed fuel filter and coil ignition. Cat converter installed 3-4 months ago. Its been my DD for the last 4 years.

Now some "bad" things about the car :

    - The front bumper has a crack right by the fog light on the driver side.
    - The rear quarter panel paint is fading away.
    - The engine has a tick noise and from what I've heard is a lifter tick or something like that, I'm not a mechanic so I don't know for sure but I can only hear that thick when the engine is cold. After I let it run for 5-10 minutes the sound disappears.

The interior is in very good shape with only a small cig burn in the passenger seat. Pretty much everything is powered like doors, windows, driver seat.

You can call me anytime at 517-672-0336.

I'm asking $2350 or best offer.

A "mechanic" checked my car today and he told me it has a blown head gasket!!! Now I really want it out my driveway if possible by the end of the week so if anyone is interested in a project here's one .

    1800 or best offer!

pics? Anyone else care to comment on the tick speculating any further than it being a lifter? Heck, when replacing the head gasket(s) the lifters should be right there.

I have to ask, what's going on with the hood misalignment?

So, any more info you can give me? I went and looked at the pics but more are always nice. Is it driveable? Any oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil? White smoke out the exhaust?
                  What happened with the trans?

I would like to know and perhaps come out to see it this weekend.

The car is parked right now. I tried to start it yesterday but it won't. The oil gage is all the way down to 0 when I turn the key. Its done that a couple of weeks ago but it started after a couple of keys.
The old trans went bad and I manage to find a good deal on a newer ones with only 12,000 miles so I decided to replace it.

Let me know if you want to see the car this weekend. I live prob 23 miles away from White Lake.

oil gauge reading 0 and not starting is not good, probably not a head gasket in that case.

Yeah, doesn't sound too promising. Maybe if I've got nothing to do Sat.

Check with Andy (Emulisfyd) to see if he still has the short block 1999 3.8 from his car.
