    87 Trans Am GTA - $1100 with rims ()
    96,3xx miles
    350 TPI
    Auto Trans
    Disc brake and posi rear

I picked this up a couple weeks ago and was going to put it back together but plans have since changed. I figure I could part out the car and make some money on it but I think the car has some potential and would rather see it go to someone that would fix it up. Any questions, just ask and I'll do my best to answer.

Interior is completely out. I have a couple boxes with parts, not sure if it's everything or not
    but there is a lot.

Here are a couple pictures. Also, here is a link to a few more. http://picasaweb.google.com/coledf/87GTA#

A little more info and back in link. http://www.mifbody.com/vbulletin/sho...87-GTA-project

I can get more pictures if there is interest. Due to the interior being out it will need to be towed or trailered.

looks more like a 87 TA.. no badging and no wrap around spoiler.. Plus that HUGE hole in the 1/4 panel makes me nervous at how bad the underneath would be... anyways, good luck

From what I can tell without the RPO codes it is a GTA. The badging was taken off by whoever started the body work as was the Aero wing spoiler, probably becuase it was cracked like they all are. I believe the Areo wing was standard on all Trans Ams starting in 87 too. The steering wheel and the passenger dash both have the GTA logos on them. Also the Trans Ams had a vent behind the front wheel on the fenders that the GTA do not.

The 1/4 panel hole is on the large side but from what I can tell, the underside and the wheel well are solid.

Are the RPO codes missing from the car? Check the rear glovebox?

They are not in the center console where they should be although I do see the outline of where it was.

ahhh, I wonder if the VIN would show if its a GTA or not...

Not as far as I know. If it is not, someone replace the steering wheel and passenger pocket, front fenders and rear end. I believe the door panels and seats were different also, which they are correct for a GTA.

oh I am not doubting you at all I was just trying to help verify that in fact it is a GTA... Wonder if the build sheet is inside that car somewhere.

No problem, I wasn't saying you were, I was just saying that if it wasn't a real one, someone sure went to a lot of trouble to change things.
The interior is completely out and I didn't find a build sheet.
If there is any other way to tell for sure I would gladly verify, but as far as I know and can tell, it appears to be a real one.

No problem, I actually noticed the same things before I bought the car and was worried about it also so I did a bunch of research on them.
Even if it isn't I figure the drivetrain should be worth at least half, if not more, of the asking price. I just don't want to part out a car with some potential.
