  • FS: 1959 Dune Buggy

I have a 1959 Dune Buggy. It is street legal, and is titled and insured(Insurance is really cheap)

We have had it for ~10 years.

We had the body off a few years ago, and had the wiring re-done, new carpet, cant remember everything. Also went through the motor.

Its got a nice set of headers, sounds great, very aggressive. Runs great.

I just went through it this winter, to finish up the restoration.

I painted the bed and lower part of the body with truck bed liner, new roll cage padding, repainted the windshield frame, headlights, and bull bar. Dyed the seats black. New turn signals.

The paints not great, but this wasn't built as a show car, its great on the street, dirt, dunes, etc.

Looks great, and I wish I could keep it, but I have too many toys. Need the cash to finish other projects.

The snow will be gone soon. This thing always gets a lot of attention

I'm sure Im forgetting stuff, so please feel free to ask questions.

    $5500

Not if it's a 59...first ones were built in 1964...they only built roughly 7000 total, so real Manxs are a rare find...one of the most replicated cars in history.

Very cool ride...another one of them times I wish I had more space...

        EDIT: Found a good link...

It must titled as a 59 but it looks like it has quite a few updates such as taill lights and seats.

I like the belted tired. Those have to be 20 years years old. How much does that thing weigh? Good Luck with the sale.

                        Thanks

Yep, we put them on both our buggies.

My dad had a '66 Shelby that we restored.

Its titled as a 59, because its built from a 1959 Beetle.

We restored it. Yea, the tires are old, they're pretty dry.
