  • 1993 Z28 Camaro (needs work) (FEELER) $2,000

Still not sure what I want to do with this car. Thinking about selling it and putting money in my 99 Z28 and buying a bike again.

Long story short I sold my 93 Z28 to a buddy in MINT condition, he beat it and destroyed about every panel. Then I bought it back.

I have started to take it apart.

The engine/trans is out and in the garage.

Just about every body panel needs some type of body/paint work.

Car has around 135,xxx on it.
    93 Z28, 5.7L LT1
    PPM (purple pearl metallic)
    Hardtop
    A4

Interior: Rear seats, seat brackets, seat belts, spare tire bracket etc have been removed. Sound dampener material under carpet has been removed, head liner is currently out. Dash pad is cracked. All of interior has been detailed except dash and door panels. Currently door panels are off, window motor needs replacement.

Car weighed in a around 3360 (no muffler, diff intake) before I did any weight removal to it.

Engine is sitting in barn, trans still connected, really all that is done to it so far is stock manifolds are off, a/c is off, water pump, valve covers off (to be powdercoated)

This car ran great before I took the engine out. The trans shifted hard when you put it in drive but shifted well and didn't slip while driving it. When we took out the drive shaft a very little trans fluid came out so I am guessing it was low on fluid but it had been sitting for around 4 or 5 months before I bought it so I think it wasn't driving much like that.

If some one is that interested I can give you more details on it or if you want to come check it out. I am located in Chelsea, which is about 1 hour from the D.

I would also like to keep the rims and tires.

Here is a link to the project thread....

I would like to get $2,000 for it. I'm not sure what its totally worth but the engine is out and ready to be built. If you know a good body guy that will hook you up cheap then you in luck! Like I said, still not sure I want to go through with this so its just a feeler to see if anyone is interested.

    Thanks for checking it out!

    Michael.

Wow, I really thought you were going to complete this
You were so geeked to get it back and now you want to sell it.

Next to wanting to play with the 99 why do you want to sell her?

Well, I still plan on working on it. I don't think I will get much interest with a car that needs as much work as this does.

Really I would love to keep it but I am having bike withdrawals. There is nothing like taking a bike to the track (1/4 mile)

And with the money I would be putting into this I could put in to my 99 and make it a pretty fast reliable car. I was pretty stoked about getting my old car back and it seems like its just a hassle now. I have no where to store it when winter lets up, unless I can talk to a buddy and try to con him into letting me keep it in his garage. I don't want it sitting in the weeds at our house (45 acres, 4 door garage/barn with 0 room other than grass). Thats all I need is mice going at my wiring harness.

Still debating. I might just put new gaskets in the engine, fix up the body and sell it. But in the mean time I am about to post some powdercoat pics on the progress thread lol.

would you like to test that theory? I know of a car with a similar engine and a high-school loving transmission

Little of an update, block is at machine shop, has new cam bearings in it, needs to be bored .020 over. Got a quote of 250ish for rings and pistons (not sure on brand).
