  • 1971 Pontiac Lemans GT-37 For Sale With a 1968 Pontiac Leman

Loosing my job soon so this car has to go.
This car has what appears to be a 1969 350 with a 4 bbl carb. Factory 3 speed manual trans with the Hurst floor shifter. Very rare car and more rare than a GTO or Judge. One of 5802 made. Pontiacs answer to a lower priced lighter Judge. Has PHS documentation also. Actually drove the car around in my back yard. Shifts fine into all gears. Has no brakes from sitting. Currently has bucket seats that someone installed but they matched the factory vinyl pattern of the rear seat and are not ripped. Missing a few interior parts including the gauges and dash wiring and headliner. Had a factory gauge cluster with tach. Car will need a full restoration. Floors have some rust. Had a trailer hitch at one time and the guy cut a piece of the frame rail off when removing the hitch. Have a 1968 Lemans body shell with a good frame that I wall include. The Lemans has decent floor pans, rear tail panel and was a factory bucket seat car. Have a black bench seat in very good condition that can sell for extra. Both cars have a clear title.
$2400 or best offer for the pair.
Here is the PHS for the GT-37

Here are a couple of pictures of the GT-37. This one has the factory Hurst floor shifter.

The 1968 parts car may have a buyer. Open for possible trades on the GT-37. Looking for a wrecked 2000 and up F-body or Silverado pickup truck for the driveline.

That GT-37 must be pretty rare. I never saw one or heard of it? Good luck selling it. Sorry about the job.

Most people never heard of a GT-37 either. I did not until I looked it up. It was a cheaper version of the GTO/Judge that had a less costly insurance premium on it like a Heavy Chevy Chevelle. Pontiacs dealer brochure says "There is a little GTO in every GT-37 and you don't have to be over 30 to afford it". Rare muscle car and rarer than a GTO or Judge.

Never heard of a GT-37 either. That is very cool!

Is the 3-speed hurst a rare option? A good friend of mine is restoring a '70 LeMans Sport Convertible right now, and it also had a 3-speed with a hurst. He's not big on manuals though so he is putting a TH400 in it.

Cool cars good luck with the sale.

I wanted a Lemans really badly last summer. I found a nice 69 I was going to make into a GT37 Clone. There was a nice article on the GT37 a few months back in Muscle Machines magazine. If the parts car does sell, would you take less for the GT37?

Actually on a 1970 or 1971 GT-37 with no option for the transmission ordered, it came factory with a 3 speed manual and a Hurst shifter. If the car was a T-37 or Lemans it would have had 3 on the tree as the standard option trans. A GTO would have a 3 speed on the floor as the standard option trans also with the Hurst shifter. I would not mind this manual trans at all but my other 1971 GT-37 has the automatic trans option and rare factory a/c so I am keeping this car to restore.

The really cool thing about a GT-37 is that it was almost a wide open COPO type of option availability...you could literally get any V8/tranny option that Pontiac had.

Last year at the Spring Dust Off, we did run across an original 71 455 HO/M22 4-speed GT-37...ridiculously rare...probably embarrassed many a Camaro/Trans Am/Corvette in it's day...

Would perfer an LS1 with a 6 speed trans but could use an automatic trans if needed. A truck 6.0L or 5.3L will also work.
