I was REALLY hoping it wouldn't come to this, but my wife wants the yard and garage cleaned out before I buy any more toys, and I've decided to get a 2nd gen to work on. So the third gens have to go!
The 86 runs, still needs a few little things to get it up to tip top shape. The interior is O.K., it has a good dash pad, no cracks or dings, a VERY nice set of midnight blue seats from a Camaro, and the 140 speedo cluster. Some interior parts are from a GTA, the steering wheel, console, and dash bag. It also has the bag for the T-tops.
Engine is a 305 TPI, auto trans. Runs O.K., still stalls when cold, and hesitates a bit off the line. I know it has an exhaust leak at the manifold/pipe joint, one vacuum leak I'm trying to trace down, and the timing is way off. Other than that, no worries.
The body is VERY clean, the underbody is smooth and rust free. It does have one small rust spot on the drivers side shock pillar, where it looks like someone drilled a hole for something, and its rusted around the edges. Easy fix in a very accesible spot. Floorpans, trunk, and wheel wells are COMPLETELY free of rot.
Some added goodies are the Moroso valve covers and Edelbrock short tube headers (need to be installed). Has gold GTA rims on it with crap tires, but it will come with a set of excellent tires on normal T/A rims. These tires still have some of the threads hanging off them, theyre that new. It also has an aftermarket fiberglass hood on it, looks pretty good. It also has a 3 inch Flowmaster exhaust on it, sounds SWEET.
It will need a new windshield, the old one is completely spiderwebbed.
I'd like to get $800 out of this one. If you want, I'll also throw in the 5 speed setup (complete setup) out of my 87 I was going to put in it.
The second car is an 85, this one needs more work in the body department, less in the engine compartment. Carbureted 305 runs EXCELLENT. Auto trans. Interior is black and silver two tone, in really good shape. One burn on the passenger seat, other than that, solid. Body on this one is also nearly rust free, florpans, trunk, wheel wells are spotless. I shopped a lot of vehicles to find these two, they are clean. Now, for the bad.
This car hit a tree at some point. The front radiator support/headlight area is completely twisted and mangled. Crying shame on a car this clean. I do have the front frame/support structure from my 87 that could be welded in to bring the car back to straight. It would need a new hood, I have all of the other parts to complete the repair. It looks a little different than the pics now, I replaced the front end so its Maroon now, better shape.
I've put alot of parts and time into this one, I'd like to get $500 out of it, Even with the front end damage, I think this one is worth it.
I have TONS of pics, and the cars can be seen at any time in Fenton. Both are road worthy and can be driven wherever, no towing required. Though I'll probably have to swap the tires on the 86 first.
Some pics can be seen on my Craigslist add, as you can see, Ive knocked the prices down for F-body members.
