Picked up an all original 1979 Camaro Sport Coupe last night. It only has 77,000 actual miles on it. Had been sitting for a while. The car still has the color coded 14" rally wheels that even have the correct type of tire tread for that time. It is brown metallic with saddle tan interior. Has tinted glass, a/c. rear defroster back glass, sport mirrors, center floor console, Delco AM/FM stereo and a 305 V8 with the turbo 350 trans. We got it for parts. The radiator was missing. Body is not too bad and I may actally cut the trunk floor out of it. No trunk/door key so I had to break into the trunk lock cylinder. The original jack is in the trunk but missing the spare tire. Mice cheweed up the spark plug wires and other wires under the hood. Nice dash still intact. Good seats and seat belts as well as interior trim panels and a perfect windshield. I installed some plug wires and a battery and put some gas down the carb and it fired right up with no smoke or engine noise. Funny thing is the radio was on when the key was turned on and the song from Transformers "Who's going to drive you home" was on. I forgot about the missing radiator and had to hook the trans cooler lines together to keep the trans fluid from going all over the place...LOL! Runs great and even drove off the trailer on its own. Makes it a nice bonus to now have a great running engine and working trans to sell.
Anyone need any 2nd Gen Camaro parts? I may sell the whole car running or part it out.
