  • 1971 Pontiac GT-37 For Sale

My son has a 1971 Pontiac GT-37 for sale. This car was from North Carolina. It had been sitting outside for several years so it does have some rust on the floor pans. Rare car. One of 5802 made in 1971. Pontiac only made the GT-37 in 1970 and 1971. Has tinted glass, power steering, sport mirrors (left hand is remote), air condition, rally wheels (2 are missing) and factory hood pins that were standard on a GT-37 and optional on a GTO or Judge. Had a radio but it is gone. Engine and trans is also gone. Z28 mag wheels shown not included but are available separate. Would make a great restoration project or drag car.

    $3,700 or best offer.

    Do you have the hood?

    Manual or auto trans?

Have you run it through PHS to see what it originally came with?

I knew of T-37's but have never seen a GT-37 - that is pretty unique.

A PHS would interesting to look at for this one.

Yep...the GT-37 opened up the entire option book...kind of like a factory open door to the COPO system.

There were a small handful that actually came with a 455 HO and a M-22 Rockcrusher...

It would probably be well worth your money, and a good selling point, to run it through PHS...

Yeah I just put the hood on. It is in great shape. Had to lube up the hood hinges but did not have any oil to put on them when we took the car home. I did not want to chance bending the hood. It was an automatic trans. It has all of the trans linkage still there. I have not ran it through PHS but plan to to so soon. Interesting muscle car for sure.

I may be interetsed in the car. What is the best way to contact you for details about the car. I really wasn't looking for an A body but it may have potential. Where is the car located? Thanks.

Where are the stripes? GT37s had stripes down the side. Is that the original paint? I love G bodies! I was going to buy a '69 Lemans a few months back and make a GT37 clone but the deal fell through. Good luck on the sale.

The early 1971 GT-37s did not have the full length tape stripe but they did have the small eyebrow stripes above the wheel wells like the Judge did acording to what I have read. This car was painted before so they did not restripe it. Look at the picture in the GM Pontiac brochure. It shows the eyebrow stripes above the wheels. This car is actually an "A" body. GM did not make "G" bodies until 1981.
