  • FS: 1995 Pontiac Firebird Roller

Hey guys here is a 1995 Pontiac Firebird roller for sale, what you see is what you get. The pictures are not the best as he did not have time to clean it but you still get the idea. It is in great condiditon body wise the interior is dirty but complete just needs a good cleaning! Will sell cheaper if the interior (the seats) are not wanted. The odometer reads 108625, dash is complete with gauges and everything. This would be perfect for that LTX or LSX swap. Looking to get $1000 OBO Also all four stock rims are with the car the front just the front one was not holding air.

Small fortune in there. Engine wiring harness looks to be still intact in the engine bay, gauge cluster, dash pad, door panels, mirrors, body panels, etc... man could easily make back $1000.

Judging by the rims, it was a 3.4 car. '95 model cars with the 3.8 are pretty rare.

I believe you are correct, I believe it was a 3.4 car. I could get the VIN number and someone may be able to confirm that tho. There's well more then $1000 worth of parts here, hopefully someone might need a great roller or I may part it out...

Look at the door tag Darren, when was the car built?? I believe any v6 built after January should have had the 3.8.

Did a little digging, the 3.8 was used starting in Jan '95 due to the 3.4 no longer meeting California EPA regulations. The 8th digit in your vin should be a K, and the RPO will be L36 if it's a 3.8 car.

Are you sure? I could've sworn that the 3.8 wasn't introduced in 1995 until the end of the year for California's EPA regulations.

The air canister on the passenger side is a 3.4L canister... here's what a 3.8's should look like:

I guess you'll have to ask your White Book the definition of "early".

From what I've read so far it was either Jan or Feb when the L36 was first used, the one thing I'm trying to determine is if it was only for California cars, and then only automatic cars??

I haven't dug deep thru my Sales Product books (one of the perks of working in a dealership when I did, I snatched up all the old books before they were thrown away.), but I may be able to find a sales bulletin that will help shed more light on this, I'll keep you posted.

Below is just some of the info I found online...........

"Camaro is the American sports machine for people who love to drive and one turn behind the wheel is guaranteed to transform just about anybody into a Camaro enthusiast," stated the 1995 Camaro sales catalog. Camaro returned in 1995 with the same lineup. A coupe and a convertible were offered in both the base and Z28 series.

The Buick 3800 Series II V6 (L36 3.8L) was introduced midyear, most were available only in California, eclipsing the 3.4L OHV. Z28's in California received dual catalytic converters (Right - under passenger side floor / Left - under left engine manifold), good for an additional 10 hp. Base Eagle GA tires were upgraded from S-rated to T-rated, and the speed limiter was raised from 105 to 115 mph
The 3.8 (231 ci) RPO L36 V6 engine, available as an interim 1995 option, was made standard for 1996 coupe, convertible, RS coupe, and RS convertible. It produced 200 horsepower, and 225 lb.-ft. torque, and was available with 5-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

The VIN number 2G2F22SXS2246297. So what's the verdict 3.4 or 3.8?
