  • 1987 Trans Am 5 speed TPI

Asking $1200, with all the extra parts.

I bought this car with intentions of restoring it, then found an 86 that had an engine fire, decided to go in a different direction. I could strip it to rebuild the other one, but I just can't bring myself to kill this car.

Using it as a DD right now, car starts first time, every time. 305 runs strong, tranny shifts well. It does chirp a little going into 5th now and then, syncro going bad, maybe?

Car does have a fair amount of rust, nothing that cant be fixed. And it comes with most of the parts to do the fixing! Includes 2 doors, 2 front fenders, a new set of seats, and a new hatch, plus some other little stuff.

Car has a digital dash, that about half works, needs some work there. But it is perfectly drivable the way it is, the speedo is just a little off, and the DIC doesnt work. According to the rims, its a WS6, not sure how to verify that. Tires were new 800 miles ago, the exhaust was redone 6 months ago. Engine is clean.

So, somebody buy this monster, and help finance the rise of my crispy chicken!

Glad to see you are selling this car instead of tearing it apart.

        Good luck!

Forgot to add: I need a slew of parts for the toasty T/A I'm working on, so would be willing to work a cash/part trade for this as well. I need a hood, an engine harness, t-top headliner, passenger door, a ton of misc underhood components, a carb, a distributor, an alternator, and a set of wheels and tires.

              So make an offer!

Allright, the rear drivers quarter is the worst area. The passeneger side just has a little lip rust, could probably be fixed. This one will need to be replaced I think. The door area of the body is clean, the undercarriage looks pretty clean, though I havent been under the car. Theres a sizable dent in the passenger front, but it comes with a replacement, rust on the doors, but they come with replacements as well.
The car really does come with a ton of parts, 3 doors, extra power window motors, replacement headlight motors, a hatch w/defrost, a pair of Sony 6 x 9's, and I installed a pioneer supertuner III CD/MP3 player for tunes, though I still have the stock radio as well.

I threw this up on Craigslist, and Ive gotten a bunch of responses, but I'd rather sell it to a group member, or a friend of a group member.

v Forgot to add, I have thedoor panels as well. I started to take the doors off before I bought the Crispy Chicken I'm working on now, so theyre partially disassembled right now.

The lower dash panels are also back on. The guy I bought it from was chasing a wiring problem, turned out to be a bad relay under the hood. So it looks a little better down there now.

Someone asked me about options. The cruise control works, the stalk for the wipers has the usual break in it, but the wipers still work. Heater works fine, the A/C doesn't. The lower hose on the passenger side was cut by the previous owner to remove the A/C. Replace it, and it should work. power windows are not operational right now because I was taking them apart. But the car comes with a total of 6 power window motors, so I'm pretty sure getting them working again won't be an issue.

The trunk lock is fried, but I have a replacement lock cylinder for it.

Tires are excellent, new within the last 6 months, they still have threads sticking out of em in places. The exhaust was replaced in october, very clean and shiny. No catalytics anywhere down there.
I replaced the battery when I bought the car a couple months ago, lifetime warranty from Autozone.

Headlight motors are fried, I have a replacement that comes with the car. All the lights/blinkers/etc work fine.

The DIC for the dash has a cracked LCD, looks like someone punched it. The dash display works pretty good. The TAC isnt working, ive been told its a bad sensor. It throws the speedo off a little bit, but should be an easy fix.
