Have any dyno graphs? I'm interested what kinda power it puts out with that large of a turbo and how bad the lag is.

Thanks guys, it is a big turbo (the main reason I wanted it to not hang down ) but luckily it has a huge devided exhuast housing. I blocked off one half of the scroll and ported the other side so it matches the size of the 3 inch exhaust. With it set up like this I can get about 3lbs of boost in 1st gear on gas (that is with 4.10 gears) and full boost in all other gears. I am not exactly sure on when it hits full boost (I could go back and check some data logs but I'm thinking it's about 3500rpm) but if you take it for a spin you will be suprised at how well it works. I had planned on running it like this then if the backpressure readings get too high I would just put a wastegate on another pipe and have it open up to the other side of the housing once it hits like 5lbs of boost. I have a 1/4 npt port in the pipe going to the wastegate to test the backpressure but after extensive datalogs with no knock I think the 60mm wastegate I used is letting enough exhaust bypass the scroll to keep backpressure in check.
I have not had it on a dyno (I don't even know if there is a dyno near me) but a normal LT1 engine should gain about 18 r.w.h.p. per pound of boost. If you do the math it should be putting down an extra 90 on 5lbs and around 216 on 12lbs of boost. I am planning on getting it to the track soon to see if the calculations are correct and for some final tuning. MPH on the track is probably the best way to get a real world R.W.H.P.
Oh and one other thing, I love the E85....this fuel seems to be the best way to make power without spending $5.00 a gallon for fuel. To change over from Gas to E85 or vice versa I just remove the check valve from the wastegate line to bring the boost back down to the wastegate setting and load the gas tune, it takes less than 5 minutes for the changeover. Anyone that is thinking about forced induction should REALLY think about building the fuel system for max power on E85 (30% more fuel than gas) and then just tune it for whichever fuel you are running at the time. This will give you MANY more options when you decide to turn up the boost and allow you to just go back to gas with some simple changes. Also the E85 spools the turbo better because there seems to be way more exhaust volume to turn the exhaust wheel.

I'm not sure I'm ready for a trade...I really want to sell it so I can buy the truck I've always wanted or sell the body only and use the drivetrain for the truck I've always wanted. Either way my wife would not be too happy if I get the truck and still have another car.Originally posted by LS1Formulation View PostIf you wanted to trade for an LS1 car, I'd actually consider it. I really want to turbo mine eventually.

Well If I do part the car out I will keep the turbo kit, This setup in an old 32 Ford Truck with the turbo mounted in the bed would be perfect...plenty of power and mid 20's mpg cruising down the highway.Originally posted by transampimp View PostSell me the turbo kit!!!!!! That is cool. Why did you want it mounted inside the car? Most just leave it outside.
I originally wanted to mount it just like the STS kits but after looking at the trunk well that I never use, seeing some others using there trunk for battery's and fuel pumps, and noticing the exhaust would be the same length with less restriction I think I made the right choice. This huge turbo fits great in there, there is not a flow of cool air going over the exhaust housing to cool it down and from the back you would never know it was there if you didnt notice the 5.0 inch exhaust pipe coming down on the right side. Oh and one more good thing about it being in the trunk is that I can work on the entire thing without getting under that car (you have to jack these things up just to get your arm under them).

manuals should be launched off the limiter and the throttle shouldn't leave the floor til 10 feet after the finish line

Ok guys, I might be up for some trading....the 32 Ford Truck I have been wanting is off the table so lets see what you have. I like Old and I like manual trans but I'm open for whatever. I'm about 2 weeks away from getting the new clutch filling it with E85 and turning up the boost to see how it runs....The drag stip is OPEN.
