I paid 10000 and put 500 into and the fuel to pick it up... all totalled i over over 11,000 into it

why would someone bother to flip it just to make $500??? not worth it...just wanted my money back out of it...

We have decided to keep the car.... i wont sell it like this.... I have marked it sold on every site even though we still have it, i just got the title from his bank... and found the previous owner lied on it and the receipt

the previous seller "geosride" on motownmuscle or "chevy thunder 17" on ls1 tech or his real name George... lied to me several times about this car... i dont like sellers who lie to me... after all this i have no idea what the car really is.. what is true what is not

Evidentally he registered it with orginal 85,000 miles in sept 2007 and sold it to me now with orignal 75,000 miles a year and a half later... see the problem he rolled the odometer back or replaced the gauge cluster... i have proof and signed receipts......... and car fax records........

so the question is what else did he lie about... after getting the title from his bank i wanted to throw up...

i emailed him and called him after finding this out and he wont return my emails

i am consulted law enforcement and a lawyer not sure yet what i am going to do

I think i am court bound, either way i am going to be stuck with a car that the owner lied about

thats not right, might wanna check to see if everything on the car is actually as stated. like look on the trans ect for a p/n or something.

someone must have told the previous owner about this page because he emailed me today stating it is a typo and I asked him if he is willing to give me proof of it, or a written letter stating that... waiting to see what happens

If he did roll back the odometer I hope you stick him good. I went through the same thing a Month ago on a GTP. It showed 103,000 on the odometer and the owner swore it was the actual mileage. Right after I paid him for it and took delivery my brain said I really should get a carfax. The Carfax showed like 149,000 miles in July of this year. I called him up and he came and took the car back and gave me back all my cash. Since I had printed the craigslist page where he was swearing it was a true 103,000 mile car it was his only choice, or I was turning him in and since he has dealer plates on everything in his driveway I'm sure it would not have been pretty for him. If this guy misrepresented see if he wants the same option, give you back all you dough and take the car back.

the problem getting my cash back, is that a check for 10k was sent to texas to a lending company to release the title, they had it (being a title holding state), i have had the car for 3 weeks, and just got the title

the previous owner never saw the title, and he is swearing that it was entered wrong on the title when he bought it and it was sent to the SOS office, and since he never saw the title he didnt know it was wrong (according to him)

before all this i thought him to be a honest seller, after i brought it home and drove it around, it had a little clip thing break for the clutch pedal and he actually drove 4 hrs to my house to fix the car with a 1.50 part... I was amazed, most sellers wouldnt do that... i wouldnt have done that

maybe he is telling the truth, he is looking for the loan paperwork on the car to prove the mileage when he bought it... the SOS office says they can fix they title....

however... if you run a carfax... it woudl show mileage changed on title.....what buyer is going to beleive all this after i get it all straight???? i wouldnt.......

therefor i am going to be stuck with this car, when my wife doesnt want it or like it.... and everyone who is married know if the wife isnt happy nobody is!

This is regarding the 2000 Pontiac Trans AM WS6, VIN 2G2FV22G9YZ147062, which was
sold to Jason Vess.
There is an error on the odometer reading on the title. It states that the mileage as of the title
issuance in September 2007 was 85,583, when in fact, it should have been 74,583 as of
September 2007, and the odometer reading at the time of sale in January 2009 when it was
sold to Jason Vess was 75,050.
We believe that this was a clerical error on the part of the Secretary of State. We were
unaware of the error until now due to the fact that the title was held out of state, by
Citifinancial Auto, in their Texas office. Jason had his bank send funds directly to Citifinancial
and so the title was sent directly to his bank, and we never had the opportunity to discover the
error.
It is likely that when the mileage was entered, a numerical keypad was used, and the 7 and 4
keys were mistakenly transposed with the 8 and 5 keys. I hereby certify that the odometer
was not tampered with while in our possession.
Please correct the odometer/mileage records on this vehicle. If you have any questions

thats very possible. specially if he did a engine swap? idk the finer details just giving him the benefit of the doubt. who knows tho hope this all gets sorted out for you.

I have a bigger question??? Did this guy live out of state at one time?? And if so did he not ever title the vehicle in Michigan?? The reason I ask is because as far as I knew Michigan is not a "title holding" state. Meaning that his bank could/should not have held the title. Strange situation


I did some research and here's what I found on the SOS website. If he lived outside the state at one time then I understand, if not this would raise a huge red flag, IMO....

How do I register my vehicle if the lien holder is holding the title out-of-state?

Answer:

Take your out-of-state registration (it can be recently expired) or proof of the out-of-state title to any Secretary of State branch office along with proof of Michigan no-fault insurance for the vehicle. Michigan will issue a 'FOREIGN OWNERSHIP-REGISTRATION ONLY" registration for the vehicle. This will allow the State of Michigan to issue license plates without converting the out-of-state title to a Michigan title.

New Michigan Residents

Registration Requirements

New Michigan residents must immediately title and register their vehicles at a Secretary of State office and turn in the title from their previous home state. Titles are required for all motor vehicles and for all trailers 2,500 pounds and over. "Resident" means every person who resides in this state and establishes that he or she is legally present in the United States.
If your out-of-state title is being held by a lien holder or leasing company, you may take your previous state registration (it can be recently expired) or proof of your out-of-state title to any Secretary of State office. Proof of Michigan no-fault insurance is required to register a vehicle. The Department of State will issue a Michigan registration and plate to a vehicle with an out-of-state title.

If there is more than one owner showing on your out-of-state title, all owners must be present. If an owner cannot appear, he or she may complete and sign an Appointment of Agent form designating another individual to sign on his or her behalf.

Buying a Vehicle From a Dealer


When you buy a new or used vehicle from a Michigan dealer, the dealer: provides all necessary forms and ownership documents, collects the necessary fees and taxes, files the title application with a Secretary of State Branch Office within 15 days from the date of delivery, purchases or transfers your license plate for you, and provides copies of all paperwork.

Before accepting delivery of the vehicle, check to make sure all promised options and equipment have been included. Test drive the vehicle again to make sure it is working properly.






By law, the dealer must give you a copy of each document when you sign it. Never sign any blank documents or sign a document without reading it carefully. The dealer should give you:

• a copy of the Application for Michigan Title - Statement of Vehicle Sale (RD-108).

• a copy of any written warranty on the vehicle or any services purchased (such as rustproofing or extended service contract).
• a copy of the odometer mileage statement, if buying a new vehicle.
  a copy of the "Buyer's Guide" window sticker, if buying a used vehicle.
  a new license plate and registration, or a 15-day temporary registration affixed to the rear window, and
• a copy of the finance contract lease agreement.

If you are purchasing a used vehicle, the dealer must show you the previous owner's title. Examine it carefully. If the title is an orange color and shows "this vehicle was previously issued a salvage title", the vehicle was previously issued a salvage title, probably due to vehicle damage. You are entitled to a salvage disclosure form from the dealer.

After the Sale

You should receive a second copy of your Application for Michigan Title -- Statement of Vehicle Sale (RD-108) in the mail within 20 days of the sale. You should receive a new title within 30 days. Review it for accuracy. If there are errors, contact your local Secretary of State Branch Office.

Always keep your title in a safe place. Do not keep the title in your vehicle.

Well i did personally get the title from his bank they sent it to me because i paid the car off,

even they said "citi financial auto" that it is their policy to have the title mailed to them after registering it in the purchasing state, then they hold the title until the car is paid in full....
