  • FS: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The seasons are changing and it's time for me to thin out the herd in the driveway. This is an excellent vehicle for the hunter, student, or those looking for a good winter ride. I would have no apprehensions of driving this thing anywhere. I am only selling it because we got a great deal on a newer Grand Cherokee that I have wanted for a long time.

I have owned the Jeep since 2003, and made a lot of modifications since then to make it reliable, capable, and fun to drive. The body and engine have 221,000 miles but it truely does not show it. The Jeep gets a lot of compliments everywhere it goes - especially from other Jeep owners. Even though the Jeep shows high miles, it runs very well. It has excellent oil pressure and shows no signs of abnormal wear. Overall it is far above average for a vehicle of its age and miles. I have videos of the engine running from a cold start to show just how smooth it runs. If anyone would to see them please email me and I will send you the link.

    The GOOD:
    • Brand new front brakes just before being listed for sale (rotors and pads)
    • Fresh oil, filter, transmission fluid, and transmission filter just before being listed for sale
    • 5.2L Magnum V8 / 46RH 4 speed auto Trans
    • Mopar remanufactured transmission installed at 200,000 miles
    • Mopar Performance/K&N Cold Air Intake Kit
    • Mopar Performance PCM/Engine Computer
    • MSD Blaster ignition coil
    • Fresh tune up (plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor) at 215,000 miles
    • All steering components replaced at 215,000 miles
    • New fuel pump and sending unit
    • 3" Exhaust system with new 3" catalytic converter
    • Remote start & keyless entry system
    • Skyjacker 3 Inch suspension lift
    • ARB powdercoated front push bar bumper
    • Front axle replaced with a TJ Wrangler axle in 2006 (stronger than stock ZJ) at around 190,000 miles
    • Transfer Case converted to NV231 (part time 4WD) from NV249 (full time 4WD) for better fuel economy & strength
    • 265/75R16 BFG All Terrain Tires (average 50% life remaining)
    • Wrangler Rubicon factory wheels (4)
    • New A/C accumulator and condensor
    • Repainted exterior in 2005
    The BAD:
    • The A/C is not working. It does not hold a charge for more than a week. I beleive the evaporator core under the dash needs to be replaced.
    • The front drive shaft has started making some squeaking sounds. It just started after the Jeep sat for sale for a few weeks. Most likely the universal joint needs to be replaced.
    • There is some rust just starting to pop on the liftgate - can be seen in one of the photos.
    • It could use an alignment. It drives straight but the steering wheel is not centered.
I am asking $3200. If anyone know someone looking for a reliable used SUV please send them my way.
