the 98 cars have a different pcv setup and perimeter bolt valvecovers and the pcm cannot control a 4l80e trans so everyone calls them bastard year cars, they do however have a functional coolant temp gauge though.

they also have metal gas tanks & a different cam...

i dont think any of that stuff is noticeable though
