Why does that sound like a scam for only $5K??? I've seen beater GA's going for more than that, let alone a full custom with lots of carbon fiber that had to cost a ton. There's more than $5K in CF parts on that thing.

Was thinking the exact same thing. Unless he bought in bulk, the price I usually see for a square yard of carbon fiber is $45 to $80. That's one layer. You gotta have at least 5-6 layers (guesstimate) to get any type of strength for body parts, probably twice as much. That said, each part is easily close to $1,000 in parts and labor... and from the looks of the pieces whoever made them definitely had to use reverse molds and vacuum bagging to get those pieces made, which isn't a cheap thing that normal individuals would have.

Also, did anyone notice that the door is not carbon fiber? So you have a 95% carbon fiber body... ...and black doors.

True that, but it wouldn't take much to make a carbon fiber outside shell piece, the inside will still be steel.

How much does anyone wanna bet that it's just carbon fiber film applied over the exisitng body panels?

Or I suppose it could be a former SEMA car.

If it is all carbon fiber, and not a SEMA car, stupid money was spent on a Grand Am needlessly.

And, for the record, I didn't say it was ugly...just wouldn't waste $5000 on it...
