Yeah the price is way cheap. I wonder what gives there??, from the pics it looks alot better than the price would make you think.

paint is definately not perfect, the rear passenger side bumper is pretty beat up, price still seems really good though.

My eyes bugged out when I read the title...thanks for the coronary, Scott.

A nice honest description...good to see somebody not trying to pan off a simple black T/A as a SE...although they just don't come out and say that...

It's sweet! I'll definitely say that. Only thing I would've wanted was a pic of the dash. Yeah, I almost crapped my drawers thinking Todd was selling.

LOL - good one Scott - sad part is though someone probably will still jump on the BIN only to do their homework after the fact and find out that it's not an SE

all in all though a nice car for the money, I know had I never bought my SE and saw this one I would be tempted as a nice summer DD

LOL....what can I say, I saw the red interior, no bird on the hood, and couldn't pass up the opportunity. Now what I should've done, was not give up the pracitical joke right away, and see how many would've truly thought it was yours.

I agree on the "not doing their homework part"......I can see where somebody will buy this thinking he/she has an SE......the sad thing is so many people see a black & gold bird, and automatically think Smokey & Bandit. Very few really know what a SE is, and even less realize there was never an "official" Smokey & Bandit version made.

You're right too the price on this one is very good if you're in the market for a nice daily driver.

Not entirely true...a brief excerpt from http://www.mifbody.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=5855 or http://www.78ta.com/banditedition.htm

                            The REAL Bandit Special Editions

When it was stated above that there are no factory “Bandit” Special Editions, that was true. However, in 1981 that was remedied by Trans Am Specialties in Cherry Hill, NJ, who created approximately 200 Bandit Trans Ams under license of Universal Studios to use the name. Modifications were extensive, and included the following:
                            - 455 motor bored 0.30 over; final displacement of 462 cubic inches
                            - 9.0 to 1 compression
                            - 380 hp at 4800 rpms, 430 lb. ft. of torque at 2800 rpms (estimated)
                            - Doug Nash 5-speed manual transmission
                            - 3.08 rear gear
                            - 3900 lb curb weight (estimated)
                            - 21 gallon fuel tank
                            - 11.0 vented front disc brakes, 11.1 vented rear discs
                            - Pontiac’s WS6 handling option
                            - 255/60R15 Goodyear tires
                            - Recaro seats
                            - Blauplunkt four speaker stereo
                            - Escort radar detector
                            - Motion sensitive theft alarm
                            - CB radio (of course)

Zero to sixty times were measured in 6.0 seconds, and it ran a traction-challenged 14.3 quarter mile at 97 miles an hour (with a 3.08 rear gear).

                            What did it cost?

A cool $30,000 in 1981. That was $4000 more than an ’81 DeLorean and moving towards entry level Ferrari territory. But if you wanted one of the fastest cars made in 1981, and wanted to be Burt Reynolds, the Bandit was your car.
