Ol Time Rock N Roller On Board
Boy, do I want to put those flame throwers on my HOT 80, but I do not want to melt my rear end facia...
those boys in the hood sure do not know how to make flames the correct way. I was waiting for that Camaro to blow up any minute !!!"OL Time Rock n' Roller on Board "

Is there any truth to the spark plug trick I hear about? I heard a story along time ago about running a spark plug in the exhaust would make flames shoot out the tail pipe...

There's a lot of things you don't get! IT LOOKS FREAKING COOL!!! The sparkplug in the tail pipe is only half the setup. You need a coil to fire it and something to trigger it. Do a search for flame throwers and you can find different plans. The problem is on FI cars and cars with cats it won't work. Cats burn up the extra fuel leftover in the exhaust and FI car's don't run rich enough to create excess fuel to reburn in the exhaust. You need a carb with a manual choke so you can choke it and dump excess fuel into the exhaust to burn. You can run a propane kit but you really need to know what you're doing and it really creates the most impressive flames.Originally posted by Orange_TerrorWhat's the point? lol. I don't get why you'd want to do it.

you can make it with just a spark plug and coil... but you have to have your cats.. delete otherwise gas will build up in them and could blow right up... the trick is to hook up a relay to delay the spark for a second and just wash fuel down the exhaust when its shot out the end it reaches a spark... thats the traditional... but bad way to do it... you ruin an engine fast washing gas down it without burn... constant oil changes to keep it safe and expect bad cylinder wall wear...
now if you want a safe easy and still fairly cheep way to do it... dont talk about this too much eaither i havent seen it for sale yet and i might have dibs on a patent if it ever catches on....
you get a winshield washer fluid tank or something of the like with a cap that closes tight but still vents... run the fuel down to a fuel injector that is in an exhaust tip and then about 3 to 6 inches infront of that you hook a spark plug and coil up... its really easy to do i can bust out a set in like 15 minutes with the parts... get exhaust tips drill 2 holes one for a fuel injector one for a spark plug... wire a push button switch to the fuel injector and coil for the spark plug.. and there ya go flame thrower that doesnt hurt your motor and you can use it all day... cost about 25-55 bucks per side depending on how nice of tips your going to use on it.. ive made a few they work nice but you will use up gas quick.. you can also use other flamable fluids... alcohol is cool get a nice blue flame.. same with a few othersOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice.
