That car should bring big money. I've known Bill Porterfield for years and have been around that car on many occations. I'm surprised it's up for sale. Bill also owned the yellow ZL-1 (#3) from Berger Chevrolet at one time (I even got a ride in that one once) but it was sold several years ago, and has since changed hands a few more times since.

I've also been to the old Fred Gibb Chevrolet building in La Harpe, IL and am priviledged to be able to call Helen Gibb one of my friends as well.

I would love to buy that car, but it will probably sell for many times more money than my house is worth!

Yessir - that's the one. I absolutely love watching when they start that car up inside the trailer and watching the trailer walls flexing and rippling from the exhaust.

I too have know Bill for many years...went to high school with his daughter (saaamokin' hot BTW).

When he still owned Mid-Engineering, he would let her drive his big block, mid-engined, Cutlass Salon to school every now and then.

One of the ZL1s burned to the ground when his trailer caught on fire, but I don't remember which one it was...I think it was this one, but definately not sure...and I believe the yellow one was the only yellow ZL1...
