I used to live near this guy (if it's the one I'm thinking) and he takes exceptional care of his stuff, and has more money than he knows what to do with. I used to do most of the work on his cars at the dealership down there

          Nice car, but 88 large?

I could build it for less than that...

Ahh, good question, but it's not.

The Phase III cars go for $125K.

If someone threw $30K at Katech, they could build that motor, or better.

Only leaves me $90K to build the car...hmmm...

You might be able to build a similarly powered car for that kind of money, but you could not get the body panels. GMMG exclusive.

And, there's a lot more people around with that kind of money that you'll ever realize.

Didn't I just hear (I'm pretty sure it was here) that someone was going to be re-popping the fenders and quarters? Right before Superfest. Brian was talking about getting a set...

Regardless, with $80 ger to build a car, I can get the fenders and quarters done for that as well.

And that includes a one-off set of wheels.

Another thing to consider is the "worthy-ness" and or collectabilty of these cars. Sure you could build a better, faster, kick ass car for less but it will never be worth what some of these car are just for the mere fact they are from GMMG. It's a reputation thing....same as Saleen, Callaway, Lingenfelter, Roush and the like.

Exactly, this car was built to be special, and in 20 years (give or take) the collectability will be high. I think it is a bit much right now, but relatively speaking demand is fairly low (people are wanting them to be worth what a first gen yenko is, and they aren't to that point yet in my opinion)
