  • Site Peppy ... Again

So, the site was being peppy at first, but then it started lagging again. I did some drastic measures. In talking with PlatinumServerManagement the last time we had a backdoor on the server, they said that the process was running under the Meissenation.com account.

Well, I decided to take drastic measures on my own personal website to save MiFbody.com from being shut down by hackers and such. I went through my Meissenation.com account and deleted virtually every single PHP file on the site. I deleted the whole phpNuke website that used to be up on Meissenation.com.

That seemed to fix it for awhile, but then after a few days I found the server load spiked back up to 5-6 server load. I put another ticket in with PlatinumServerManagement and they said it was still under the Meissenation.com account and that they killed the hack processes that they found. So, I went back into the Meissenation.com file structure and found an old PHP Wiki installation that I had installed awhile back for a school project. I completely deleted the entire directory, and TADA our server load has been averaging 0.2 - 1.0! YAY!

If you're ever curious about the server load, go down to the footer of the site where the "Contact Us" etc links are. Right above it there should be Server Load information.

So, now meissenation.com is only used for uploading my pictures to, and it has a few HTML pages for the galleries ( http://www.meissenation.com/gallery/2007 ) etc. No more personal site, but all for making MiFbody better and more stable.

I had an old version of PHP Nuke running, and I don't even remember when I installed PHPTiki.
