With today being "Christmas Eve eve" and many people either already travelling or being busy tomorrow with the family, I wanted to take the time to wish everyone here, part of the Meissen's extended family, a very Merry Christmas. Although I know yesterday's news about Doug will be something that will emotionally affect most of us over the next few days, I know that Doug would want us to all have a great Christmas. As I've said many times over the years, please take the time to show how much you care about your loved ones and let them know they're appreciated. Christmas is the time to be with family and friends, to wholeheartedly give to others without expectations of returns, and every holiday is time to appreciate what we have.
I ask four things of everyone this weekend:
1. Please say a prayer for the Warren family and the WMCC
2. Don't drink and drive, no matter how safe you feel you are to be behind the wheel.
3. Always buckle up when you get into the car
4. Last, but not least, our society today is always about being in a hurry - take your time this holiday and appreciate it. Take your time while driving, don't tailgate and cut people off. While you're with your family and loved ones - be there mentally. By that I mean don't sit in the same room and be busy fiddling with your phone, pay attention to the conversations and enjoy their company. As we learned yesterday, you just never know who will be here tomorrow and who won't, so appreciate each moment you can.
To end on a brighter note, I hope everyone has fun opening presents and everyone receives everything they asked Santa for.
I know I'm personally really excited for Angie to open the presents that I bought her - she has no clue what I got her this year (which is a first!). And I really hope everyone who participated in Secret Santa enjoys opening their presents!
