  • New Feature: Receive Text Messages from MiFbody.com!

    Hey guys,

We have a new feature that I'm proud to have added to the site. With today's utilization of SMS text messaging in every feature of life, there's a product which integrates text messaging with vBulletin! With this feature, you will receive a text message whenever you get a private message on the site. It's fully optional and you set how many text messages you receive per day and whether or not you want to participate.

To set it up, follow these simple steps!

    1. Click on the "User CP" link in the top navigation bar.
    2. On the left navigation bar in the User Control Panel, click "Edit SMS Options"
    3. In the page that loads, it will tell you that you are not set up with a cell phone number. Click the link to set up your cell phone.
    4. Select your mobile provider.
    5. Enter in your phone number. NOTE: Only numbers, no hyphens or other characters
    6. A text message will go to your cell phone with a 4 digit code
    7. Return to the page and enter in your 4 digit pin to confirm the cell phone number
    8. Back under the "Edit SMS Options" select whether you want to receive text messages when you get new private messages, whether you want to allow other users to SMS you, and you can even set the limit for how many you receive per day.

Wow, the Techie Geek Kids of MiFbody unite! LOL

I noticed the ages of the members responding so far ...... 22, 20, 20, 24, 19, 18 ............ well, I'm 55 and I guess it just does not excite me much.

I've only sent ONE text message ever, and I had to have my son help me with that.

When I got a new cell phone I wanted one that was just a phone. I didn't want a camera phone, or one that would play music or games. I didn't want to surf the web or check the stock market. I didn't want one that had GPS or could find me a good restaurant. I just wanted a good phone. I ended up with a Sanyo Katana II phone. It has a camera in it, which I've never used. It has worked out to be a good phone and I'm happy.

I guess I'm just an old geezer.

But, if you "kids" like this new feature, then you did another good thing, Brian!

I just had to pick on you young guys a little this morning!

RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

I have a Katana 1. I just use mine as a phone and use the camera sometimes, plus to play games if I'm waiting on the doc's office or something. We just changed our plan and it includes unlimited text so might use it now.

My wife has that phone Doug, its great for texting, she averages about 3000 per month

Surprisingly 6 months ago I had never sent a text either, but then we added it so my wife could keep up with some of her friends that have moved away and now I've got almost 600 texts last month myself, lol.

So this just tells us we have a message huh, we can't read it or respond via text then right?

That's easily the most minutes I've ever used in a month.
