  • Happy Birthday Michigan FBody!

One year ago, I was ranting about how all the other states have Kentucky FBody, Texas FBody, New York FBody, New Jersey FBody, but there's no Michigan FBody overall forum to chat and hangout on. If we wanted to socialize, we had to make Michigan threads on Camarov6.com's or LS1Tech.com's general regional forums, or we'd have to visit CamaroZ28.com's Michigan & Great Lakes forum... which is usually just a marketplace to sell stuff. It was then that Michigan FBody Association was conceived, and on an impulse decision I decided to register mifbody.com. I added it to my hosting package I already had for my personal website, meissenation.com, and created a fancy looking PHPNuke community website with forums and tons of goodies. For those of you that remember the early days (hell, most can relate to the early days of vbulletin) I was adding new mods and new hacks nonstop. Haha, I remember even adding a "Married Mod" so that James and his wife could have a special usertitle and icon showing they were married to eachother, but that didn't go so well and screwed the site up for a few days.

It's amazing how far the website, the members, and the new friendships have come since the impulse decision to create a Michigan FBody enthusiast website. I know that I wouldn't have met most of you if it weren't for this site, and I truthfully couldn't be more proud to know such a great group of people. I remember a few months after creating the site, I had to dedicate a new hosting account just for MiFbody because of all the bandwidth we were generating. A few months after that, having to upgrade the package yet again because of the added bandwidth. In just 6 months, we had 200 registered users... albiet most were inactive. I remember back in the Fall, we reached ONE MILLION HITS in a MONTH, and that was amazing to me. Here we are 12 months later, after deleting 80 inactive members, and we're back at 220 members and growing every week! From a few posts a day to over two hundred posts a day.

I just wanted to take the time to remember this past year and to thank every single one of you for being a part of this website. We have such a great community of members here, and I really appreciate all the great attitudes everyone has towards one another. On other websites, people troll and bash with complete disregard for one another because no one knows eachother and no one cares about the other person. I brag about this website having such a great atmosphere and how everyone gets along like one big happy family, and that's all thanks to you guys.

I know I may sound cocky and egotistical sometimes when I say "When you're on this site, consider me God" (lmao couldn't resist) but truthfully without all of you guys, this site wouldn't be anything more than a faceless domain registered with a boring template and nothing to make the site interesting. Truely, this site is what it is because of you guys.

Here's to a great first year for the website, and to many more ahead of us!

Wait, is the site's birthday actually March 23? I thought it was only 1 day before my birthday, not 2. You should bring a birthday cake to the spring get together. . .
