  • Michigan FBody Association 2008 Updates!

Attention all Michigan Camaro and Firebird Enthusiasts!

First and foremost, the website has grown tremendously over the past 4 months! If you've forgotten about us over time, c'mon back and check us out! With more members, more features, and more fun -- you're sure to get hooked! We've also implemented a Technical section which has become increasingly more active!

Spring is upon us and we have many exciting things to look forward to this year. The Michigan F-body Association (although not a club) will be providing several opportunites for you to get your F-body out of the garage and meet other enthusiasts. Here is a quick breakdown of where you can find us:

    Official MiFbody Events:
    • The 4th Annual Mi-Fbody Meet & Greet - Saturday May 31st - Kick off the season in style. This is our biggest event of the year, with a registered 130 F-bodies in attendance last spring. Located in Kensington Park, Milford Michigan, and catered by Crank's catering. More information can be found here.
    • First Annual MiFbody Track Day - Friday June 13th - With several of our member's expressing interest in grudge racing, we will be meeting at US131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI to make a few quarter mile passes. Even if you dont plan on racing your F-body, feel free to attend. Test and Tune runs from 5-11 PM. Information and RSVP can be found here.

    Annual Events on MiFbody's Radar:
    • 2nd Annual Hamilton Senior Class Benefit Car Show - May 3rd, 2008 - A handful of Western Michigan members plan to attend this event! This would be a great place to meet some of the fellow MiFbody.com members! More information can be found here.
    • Lane Automotive Car Show - May 23-24 - at the Lane Automotive facility, Watervliet, MI May 23-24 2008. Cruise on Friday. More info here.
    • 5th Annual Clarkston Eagles Car Show - July 12th, 2008 - More info here.
    • 9th Annual Berger Chevrolet All Chevy Show - Aug 22-23 - 2525 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI. More info here.
    • 28th Street Metro Cruise - August 22-23rd - More info here.
    • Camaro Superfest - July 4-6 - Riverside Park, Depot Town - Ypsilanti, MI. More info here.
    • GM/Camaro, Firebird, and Pace Car Event in Indianapolis - September 19-21 - More info here.
    • 13th Annual All GM Event "M13" - October, specific day currently unannounced - All day bracket racing at Mid-Michigan motorplex in Stanton MI. More info here.
    • 4th Annual GVSU Car Show - September, specific day currently unannounced - typically 150 cars of all sorts in attendance, including several F-bodies. Food & D.J. Hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. More information here.

    Weekly Cruise Nights:
    • C.J. Berrymores Wednesday Shows - Wednesday Afternoons - Located in Sterling Heights Michigan on Hall Road, several Mi-Fbody members typically stop by. The show does include registration during certain hours, however most of our members gather after the judging (approximately 5pm?) and just enjoy the social aspect of the show.
    • Mt. Clemens Wednesdays - Wednesday Evenings - one of the largest unofficial weekly gatherings in michigan. Many Mi-Fbody members go to C.J.'s first and then cruise to Mt. Clemens as a group. Located on main street between Cass and Market - to official gathering time.
    • Woodward Avenue - Friday and Saturday nights, all summer long - Many MiFbody Members cruise woodward on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer. Some of our typical gathering spots include Auto Europe, near the intersection of Adams & Woodward, and Potbelly's Sandwhich Shop at the intersection of 13.5 Mile Road. Mi-Fbody is also putting together a video of the 2008 season on Woodward Avenue. If you have footage you would like to contribute check out the informational thread here.
    • Weekly meet across from Berger Chevy - Wednesday nights at 6:30 - Meetup with the westside crew out on 28th street!
    • Dorr Dairy Ranch - thursdays at 6pm - 1717 142 Ave. in Dorr. west of US131. big time weekly cruise-in, 100 cars plus, free ice cream for driver, when you buy one & music. 269-681-9732
These are just some of the events to look forward to this year. For more, check out the "Meets, Cruises and Shows" section of the website at www.mifbody.com. Our website is very social so stop and share your ideas with us!

Hope to see you this season!

Good e-mail Brian, I was pleasantly surprised to get it yesterday . . .

Since you listed weekly events, I thought I would mention the Cruise to Battle Alley in Holly. Every Wednesday between Memorial Day and Labor Day, they block off two blocks right in the middle of downtown Holly and lots of ppl bring cars of all stripes. Plus, afterwards they have mug night in the local pub right there (bring your own mug, fill it for $1.50) I'll put up a longer post in the Meets & Cruises section with details.
