Don't worry right now about the change, it'll be a month or so I imagine. I'll post more info as it becomes available. I haven't even read my email, as of yet I don't have ownership if the server. Don't even know where the server is located -- at a datacenter somewhere. Probably California.

Once I get the server, it's a matter of downloading everything to my computer and then turning around and uploading it to the new server. Once that's done, then I just need to export the database and import it on the new server. Lastly, I'll switch over the DNS and hopefully we'll only lose maybe 1-2 hours worth of posts.

I'll be setting up a formal donation system once the new server is set up. They have some cool product for vbulletin for donations.

Well, progress update: Meissenation.com is fully transferred over, and Mifbody.com is transferring over right now. It's about 50% finished. Once everything is transferred, I'm going to wait until the evening then download the database and transfer the database to the new server.

Dunno. The accounts are done transferring, it was actually REALLY easy thanks to the administrative tools which are available when you're going from one dedicated server to another dedicated server.. something I didn't have the first time we switched to the current server from a shared location.

Of course... the database didn't transfer over. So, I'm stuck importing table by table. I've imported 145 of ~350. What I will more than likely do is wait until tomorrow night or something and then shut the forum down (I'll leave games up or have the chatroom be the front page like I did last time so we can all chat still) and then I'll take the posts, threads, usernames, etc tables and import them into the new server. Then I just have to make the DNS changes so mifbody.com points at the new server and we'll be done.
