To Those With Chatroom Issues (com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx Errors)

You need to reinstall your Java package on the computer. To do this, visit:
http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp

Click the "Offline Installation" and save it to your desktop. That'll be the easiest IMO.

This *should* fix your problem with getting the SecurityExceptionEx error, and should allow you to use the chatroom! Likewise, if you try this and it now works, please let me know. If you try this and it still doesn't fix the issue, let me know.

Cool stuff, Jeff actually figured it out, he had the issue and then when he went to the chat it said to reinstall his java, he did and the chat worked. I did some googling of the error and found similar results about having to have Java installed -- something I never thought of since I have the Java package installed on my comp for my Java class.

weird thing though is i should too because I am also in a java class, however its been a long time since ive done any on my desktop, i usually use the laptop for groupwork purposes

if you're using firefox, you have to allow the software to install. it seems as though the installation is done through a web applet.

If you click Windows Offline it opens a regular download to download it to your desktop.

haha aight guys well let me know if it works when ya try it out. For Jeff it worked, and I know I already had it installed as well as a few others, so I think that was the missing link but I'm not positive.

huh, now it works anyway. althought last time I tried it may have been on my old comp here at work last week. I know it works at home, and even if it doesn't I am not a pee-on there. I can install java.
