I have cable and its still very slow and I always see red X's

Can you be more specific as to what pages are slow and where you see the red X's? I use Firefox, and it doesn't display red X's, if an image doesn't work it just doesn't display

Maybe just me (o.k...probably just me...) but I've got Comcast and I've never had an issue loading this site...ever.

Well I have 4 meg Comcast, and I can honestly say that this site is a bit slower than most others I visit. BUT, longest I've waited for a page to load is probably 10 seconds. Most of the time around 3 or 4 seconds. Most other sites I visit are around 1 or 2 seconds. And I've had no problems with Red X's, or image viewing. I use a 1.6 Pent.4 and 1.25 gigs ram, so my computer is fairly fast.

I know how you feel about Comcast raping you, I get raped to the tune of $58 per month for 4 megs. they offer 8 megs here, but since I have satellite tv, and no cable tv, they rape me big time for the internet. Unfortunately sbc isnt available unless I move back to my old place 100ft away(yeah that ticked me off when I moved here), and comcast is all I have available other than dial up and with online college class's I can use dial up, so I am forced to bite the bullet.

I dont know, I think maybe comcast give's sub-standard service to those of us opting not to get their cable too. when I had them last time I had cable too and my internet was WAY faster than now, it was basically instant before.

Don't know Haven't tried it in a while. Will try it tonight.

Stats are posted at the bottom of each page, the page compression stats are what's new... usually says it's compressed about 10% of the page. I've personally noticed load times being smaller, but just want to see if anyone else feels that way

thats why i have dsl i have no problems but if a site is running slow for some reason we can't do anything about it. ours on b.c.r. does that once in a while.
