The new status gives important information.

For example if i want to send a PM to someone i can look at there activity bar and today bar to tell let me know how likely it is that the person will PM me back soon.

If their activity is low and they have not been on the site today i may chose to ask someone else that is more active the question.

Why is my activity so low compared to people with about the same # of post's. Is it based on activity in relation to how long you've been a member? In that case It's right lol. I must be the least post whore on this site. I should get an activity bump for reading most of the stuff, I just don't post that much lol.

seems kinda goofy. Is that why the site has been locked up for the past couple days?
On the other hand, maybe it will help keep all you newbs in your place. heh. Too bad it doesn't count all the "posts attempted but defeated by site time-outs".
whoring can bump up the activity if we're in the whoring mood, but that won't help the longevity status.
