  • Junkyard section

I think we should have a junkyard section on the site. These cars are no longer in production and parts are getting harder and harder to come by. I know the Flint area (Flint, Fenton, Lapeer, Davison, etc) junk yards pretty damn well when it comes to F-bodies and Panther Bodies (Crown Vics/Grand Marquis). I'm sure someone else knows other area yards pretty good too.

I feel a section like this would be very beneficial to all members. A great place to ask about the parts, any yards the might be in, or even get groups to go out "yarding" together. I love going on a Saturday just to walk around and check things out. Could even be a sticky with all the 'yards names, numbers, and websites (if there is one). Hell, even a great place to post pictures of old cars you find or gnarly wrecks!

If no one else wants to deal with it, I'd gladly be a mod for the section.

Yeah, a trip to Parts Galore on 8 Mile would be another good one.

I'm all for it! Hell, I'll come along if anyone wants to go just to look.

Oh, and at the last poll choice!

I think it'd just be one more forum to clutter the forum homepage. I guess it really depends on how much use it gets? We have other sections that are rarely ever used.

I agree with both of those statements. There are some sections on the site that I have no idea why there are on here. However, just like those sections, this would be for a certain group. ...and you have to admit, this would be a great way to help find parts!

The main page is very cluttered IMO. I believe that should be shrunken down in the future. I feel the main page should only show main sections just details of what the sub sections are inside. Like.....

Alright my usual prereq of having 5 people agree to the new section has been surpassed so I'll create one. Where do you guys want it? My first thought was under the Classifieds but then I thought that'd be a weird place. General Discussion? Subforum of The Pit? FBody Discussion?

Or, rather than doing that - what about we create a thread to be stickied at the top of one of the forums and everyone can post to that with locations and what not? Just don't know how many actual threads we'll have.
