    Name: Phil Kanaby
    Age: 22
    City: Macomb, MI
    Car: 1995 V6 Camaro
    Description:
I have my degree in computer programming and I own my own business, www.miraisolutions.net. I hope to find enough time to work on my car and get it ready for this summer. I have met very few of you so far but I hope to join in some of the events in the future.

I just bought my car this year at the end of August to upgrade from the 4-cylinder Saturn modifications I got used to the past 5 years (for example, here's my brother's car www.kanaby.com/phil/saturn). I was previously an SCCA member and participated at rally racing events in the UP, but let my license expire a while back after my Saturn clipped a cement wall and shattered an axel. I puchased my Camaro with modifications in mind and there will be many changes in my car's future. I don't have any pictures of my car yet (the weather has not been helpful), but I do have some pictures of progress located here: www.kanaby.com/phil/camaro

I'm still thinking about it, but the cost and work of upgrading to a V8 doesnt seem worth it. My guess is that spending the same amount of time and money on the V6 might put me up at V8 hp anyway (with the added bonus of being more fuel efficient). I will most likely go with forced induction and fuel delivery to start with. My car computer will end up tied into the OBD-2 connector (which on my car is unfortunately still an OBD-1 system so it won't be as fun). And I might do some engine upgrades. I still need to do a bunch of research and talk with a bunch of you all about what mods might get the best performance out of the V6 before I start deciding what to go with or let the V8 owners convince me to switch to V8.

I'll start now. I'd say it'd be much easier to up to a V8 and a stock LS1 probably doesn't get much worse gas milage than your 6 from what I hear. With a V8 modding will be much more beneficial as well. The V6 isn't a bad motor but why spend the same amount to push your motor so hard when you could get the same power N/A with a V8.

contrary to popular belief, mileage difference between a 6 and an 8 isnt that different. 8s just use more when you put the pedal down As far as modding the v6 - if its a 3.8 maybe, 3.4 no. From what I hear 3.4s are junk, and that engine lineup (2.8, 3.1, 3.4... all the same block) are primarily responsible for GM losing its reliability rep lately.
