Hey guys, just thought I'd introduce myself here...It's good to know that there's a local group of F body owners out there 8)

I'm Phil, and I'm 24, and live between Flint and Lansing. I have a '91 Z28 for a summer car, and a 2000 Olds Intrigue for a winter beater.

I found the Camaro when I was down in Florida a few years ago for $1500....It didn't run, but all it needed was a fuel pump It has T-tops, and is virtually stock, with 208,000 miles on the original engine and tranny.....no knocks or leaks. She's getting a thorough overhaul this winter, with a new engine, trans rebuild, interior work, and a subframe and paint.

Wow, that's kinda crazy.....I guess your car was $100 more since it did run at least, lol.

The '91-92 style is my favorite, well, except for the 1st gen....but that's too expensive for my blood.

Well, I've recently found a spare 350 block, and I'm still deciding on what to do with it. I've been saving my funds for this project, and I want to do this right while I have the thing torn apart.

I was thinking of making it a 383, but I know with TPI that would make it a torque monster....so I would go with ram air if I went that route....I still have to decide which unit might be best. I like the specs on the TPIS website for a 383 with a mini-ram, so I might go with that setup....It looks like it would give me a wide powerband to work with, and I could get away with running a low gear ratio.

Either way, the next step is to check the local machinists and see what my options might be. My dad is an ASE master tech, so that will help too

In the meantime, I'm open to ideas and such...especially if I can learn from other people's trial and error, lol.

I'd say if funds were right then the 383 from TPI would be the way to go. After all there is no replacement for displacement.
